Quick question: If the Reapers can build a space station surrounded by black holes, Faster than light travel, mind control, zombies, etc. How come they cant make a device that gives them cloaking (invisibility)?
And Jacob dissapproves of that idea (-69), that's the real reason.

They think that they can't be defeated, why waste time for installing cloaking devices if you're indestrucable?Sand King wrote...

Well lets look at Soverign and Harbinger. Soverign was ignorent and was pretty much like this "You puny mortals can't beat us!!" Well he died, this opened the eyes of the Reapers and Harbinger, Look at Harbinger, he works in the shadows, is not that ignorent and knows Shepard is a force to be scared of. This does show that the Reapers know that they are not big mighty beings and that there vanguard of there destruction is Shepard.

There not indestructible and they have know that for a long time and the ability of cloaking would get them the advantage. Who or what there were attacking wouldn’t know they were there until it was too late. Look at Nazari, it rushed the Citadel with the Geth ships and if the council fleet couldn’t see them to engage them in time then they would have had sufficient number to hold of the Alliance.gashgfjaskgfkagh wrote...

I know the Reapers can be destroyed, but still it looks like they're pretty sure about their victory.

Actually, I think Sovereign did know it could be defeated, which is why it bothered with recruiting Saren and the geth in the first place, rather than just flying straight up to the Citadel and getting the job done.Sand King wrote...

Yeah, I think Sovreign started to panic after the citadel relay didn't do what it was supposed too. I don't know that individual reapers believe they are invincible, though they may think they are very powerfull (which they are), but I think that as a group they feel themsevlves invincible. If a nation goes to war (in this case a reaper nation, and yes I know we are each a nation blah blah but I mean all the reapers here) even if it is sure of its victory or feels it is invincible it realizes that in the course of pursuing vicotry some casualties are inevitable. Though, if the reapers felt that they were assured victory without casualty I would agree that they were foolish. Especially since it seems they have had to accept casualty in the past such as that derelict reaper which seems to have been left over from an ancient battle which caused the massive crator in that planet. They have faced resistance before and lost members so perhaps they just mean as a race they cannot be defeated.
