on a side note i never use adrenaline rush and i get around on all dificulties....i also have slam and i use it with Jacob's pull....one enemy is mine...a second one is his...teamwork at it's best

He doesn't have an AR, but he is pretty deadly with the evi shotgun. Hell I even saw him shoot dead a vorcha clear across a chasm on Mordin's recruitment. No way I'd be able to do that with a shotgun. It would be nice to sup up Jacob, but no NPC should overshadow the main protagonist.
I think a lot of the Jacob bashing started started for 2 reasons.
1. A few people went on I hate Jacob rants and a lot of lemmings who were not decided on his character decided to jump in and go along with the bash.
2. Using Jacob effectively requires a little experience. Something you don't have on your first playthrough, and hence he was written off by many who didn't give him a second chance. Which is unfortunate, because with experience, on the usefulness scale for any class other than a soldier or vanguard he would be just below Miranda against non-geth,

Soldiers basically don't need any squadmates, so it's not only Jacob that isn't useful (I'm talking about normal and easy difficulty)
The bashing started because people needed a new Kaidan and guess who's the most normal (that means boring to alot of people) guy on the Normandy?

Admiral, I'm resigning my commission to the UPSC, I can stand by this thread no longer, it was fun while it lasted, but I can't fallow you in this venture anymore. Pull is usefull to get them out of cover, but that's less usefull now since I've modded my game I have all Collector ship weapons and two bonus talents (Geth Shield Boost+Slam) I storm at my enemies with the Claymore, I activate Adrenaline Rush and blow their heads away, if they get my shields down I use shield boost. Very fun playstyle on easy (I know Vanguard class exists)
I don't think Ashley would like to join me, I've cheated on her (with Miri) and I'm planning to visit TiM, smoke some cigars, drink some alcohol and plan how Humanity will take over the Galaxy, she won't like that

I love modding... I made a super adept that way. Energy drain and warp ammo is the best. You can restore shields and get +70-100% damage when enemies are affected by biotics.
