Jacob would of been more popular if he had Overload, AR's, and Heavy weapons. He like the rest of the squad mates are too similar in weapons / abilities. He gets past over for other charters( like Grunt) due to better armaments.Darc_Requiem wrote...
I hope they give Jacob abilities more in line with what he had in Galaxy for ME3. Jacob lost his tech abilities and his assault rifle in ME2. Most importantly, they need focus on the quality of his dialog. Jacob's characters has a lot of potential and Bioware left it virtually untapped in ME2.
True. I think Bioware was so worried about overpowering characters that they went too far in the other direction. Three powers and two weapons isn't enough for your squad mates. It frankly just doesn't make sense for some characters. Jacob, Jack, and Thane come to mind. I don't expect things to go back to ME1 as far as powers go, but hopefully they increase the number of powers squad mates have. If they keep the same setup give Jacob an AR and powers more indicative of his actual ability.

1. A good romance
2. Strong combat abilities
He is close to being very good in combat, to me he just needs an AR, and he would be set

I wouldn't want things to go back to the way they were in ME1 but I would like things to be more mixed up so all of the squad mates can have individual ups/downs.Darc_Requiem wrote...

Yeah ME1 did a good job making characters unique combat-wise, but there was WAY too many powers to deal with.Sand King wrote...

Jacob would benefit more having just ONE more power than any other character in my book

SK is right they went from one extreme to another. Well since technically Jacob had is own game, giving him one more power would make sense. Shepard always had more powers than the rest as a lead. Given the rumors of your stats transferring directly over to ME3. You'd have to think they'd give squadmates more than 3 powers total. Maybe 5 in ME3?
Side note: Come to think of it Grunt really has 4 powers. His Krogan Charge isn't listed but still is an extra ability. Give Jacob one too.

JT would benefit by having a kind of a sprint attack that ended with him shooting the opponent in the face with the shotgun.

Edit: SK has a point. I mean ME2 has missile launcher. Enemies use the missile launcher but Jacob has missile launcher amnesia? <_<

I was thinking more like a Vanguard's Charge since that's basically what Jacob is but your idea would look much cooler Some Dude haha.

Man your fast Some Dude, I probe a planet for minerals and you've already posted twice. SK made a good point though. When you think about Jacob in MEG and Jacob in ME2. He forgot more about fighting than he remembers. He forgot how use his tech abilities, AR, missile launcher, etc
Yeah it is kind of stupid when you think about it, but its just a balance issue....
Jacob with jetpack and BFG for ME3, as Jacob says, "It would make me one MEAN MUTHA"

Maybe Jacob is a victim of "The Avery Brooks Effect." Avery Brooks was bald in Spencer for Hire and completely badass. The first few seasons of DS9 he had hair and wasn't nearly as imposing. Next thing you know he goes back to his bald "Hawk" look and starts slapping around aliens from the Alpha and Delta quadrants  In other words. Bald Jacob for ME3!!!!.
