YOU could say that if you feel so inclined.  WE do not agree.  If your criteria for chapter 2 is continuing the story from chapter 1 it failed miserably.

I am a Liara romancer too... And I was really disappointed when I saw....well.... what they did to her

But even if I didn't like it I am not able to see that there is no continuity from the first game.. If you want to see no-continuity you should see what they did with DA:O and the xpac.. By the way this is ME forum and let's continue talk about of ME...

And I also said that the 2nd chapter has not ONLY the duty to continue the story but also to set the bases from the final one.... And if the loyalty mission, the recruitments was intended by BW with this purpose, they made a great job imho...

Its one thing to do something a little different and off track in an expac which is basically a big side mission.  it is quite another to reset the entire series in the sequel.

I agree with Jlb

Also I have been on the record on saying that I wouldn't care if we got an all new squad in ME 3. It wouldn't be ideal, but I really wouldn't care.

/backs out of thread

EDIT:  Also damn your name, you know who you are

I wouldn't care either, as long as they do the old squad justice in their cameos....none of that crap that happened with Ashley/Kaidan/Liara in ME2.  I wouldn't wish that on any of the other fanbases.

*facepalm* Tali and Garrus came back, two very popular characters. Creating new characters takes time and money. You can't argue that with me, because I work in the buisness industry and Bioware and EA would be stupid to make new characters, get more VAs ect whioch cost more money.

Two characters came back...the 'easy' ones to implement as they couldn't die in ME1.

I don't know, maybe they'll bring back 2 ME2 characters for ME3 /shrugs

There's no way all of them will be squad mates again though....that's too much.

Of course creating new characters takes money....so does bringing back old characters.  The question is, what would cost more?  Bringing back 12 old characters or creating a handful of new ones (4-6)?

How much faith you have in that happening?

While I disagree with kraidy, I do understand why he is so passionate in defending his position.  He has about the same amount of faith in it happening as I do.

I am not saying bring back all the ME2 characters, but bring back all the ME2 LI, Legion and Grunt. Mordin can stay on the ship and work on the lab. There you go. You also seem to forget that Bioware already has alot of high profile VAs for alot of the characters (Yvonne and D.C) There you go problem solved. It's cost effective and makes people happy. It's not that hard.

also to import a Shepard you need two people, for a default Shepard they can have Tali, Miri, Grunt and Legion alive. There you go, it's not that hard for Bioware to do. The question is are they going to not be lazy and be cost effective or just blow money away, give us a new squad (which no one will care about) nd ****** off the fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if most if not all of the characters die / get sidelined in ME3. They did it with DA: Awakenings and they actually did that with almost every game they had that had sequels. Since Ohgren in DA:A you can't even assume that they will keep the more popular characters. So yea... While I do hope they will keep at least my favorite characters, I wouldn't be surprised if they did not.

To be fair, you can't really expect them to have voice overs for like 30 characters. 15-ish that carry over and maybe 15-ish new ones for those people that killed everyone off in ME2. Of course, if they stuck with "what you do has dire consequences in ME3", I'd love to see no new squadmates in ME3 and if you let everyone die you're sorta on your own.

To import an ME2 game you need a live Shepard.  To have Shep live you need 2 squad mates.  Those 2 squad mates don't necessarily need to be imported.

You stayed dead 2 years... Do you really have an idea of how many things can change if you stay 2 years out from the world? Yes they partially resetted the story but they can't do this thing for a second time... They already spent this bonus...Therefore you have to be confident that the 3rd chapter will sum up what happened in the first two games...including rejoining with Liara.. they are obliged to to this....

Why bring back Grunt? He's cool and all, but I don't see him as super-valuable to the story. He doesn't even have to be unfrozen.

still you need two people to have that Shepard. It's not that hard to do it, I can think of a way to make it cost effective and makwe fans happy for ME3, the thing is will Bioware be lazy or will they find the balls to do it?

Read the email you get if you make him loyal, if he dies that could have a bad effect on your krogan forces.

Just saying, I had everyone alive at the end of ME1 except Kaidan.  How'd that turn out for me?

Just because they are alive at the end of ME1/2 doesn't mean a thing.

So, you only want them to bring back who you like...how's that fair to fans of the other characters or those that don't like the romances?

And, they've paid for Yvonne to do voice for one game...I'm not sure what that has to do with VA's for ME3.  They pay her for her time and if Miranda has less dialog, that's less $$ they have to shell out for Yvonne and her star power.

Not much faith but it's the only thing I can 'hope' for....decent cameo roles for former squad mates.

Garrus and Tali came back, thats how it turned back. This is what Bioware could do and should

bring Ash, Kaidan and Liara back as recruitable

Have ME2 LI recruitable (you can't have them all on your squad, you have to choose 3 where  with the ME ones you need to pick 1)

Grunt and Legion if alive, are on your squad (if they are dead, it will cause problems with the Geth and Krogans.

Give Samara a well-done cameo like Wrex. As for mordin, have him work on the ship and make things for you, if he is dead it is more expensive to make things.

Now here is the kicker, for the ME3 squad you only have 6 spots.

1 ME LI
3 ME2 LI characters (regardless if they are even in a romance
Legion and Grunt

The more characters you have dead, the short your sqaud is, to the point where you have only 4 people alive. It's cost effective, makes fans happy and it in fact alot easer.

That's not fair to Samara fans, kraidy, especially those that hope she's a romance in ME3.

It was not fair to the Wrex fans, but Wrex got a fantastic cameo and will play a role in the story, same as Samara. ive her a well-done cameo and in the final battle, if she isalive she helps you out big time (if she is dead, then you lose a squadmate) some characters will get cameos but if you look at it, Grunt, Tali, Miri and Legion are very importent to the big side stories (Cerberus, Krogan forces and the Geth/Quarian war)

I'm just going to expect the same thing we got in ME2.  The only way i can be disappointed is if they are not even in the game at all.  (though given how the ME2 cameos turned out that might actually be a blessing)

Wrex cameo was fantastic Nozy. He got the best treatment and has a very good reason why he could not join.

Well, Tali can get a fantastic cameo too.  So can the others you've mentioned.  The 'fantastic' cameo will make up for the unfairness, I guess....is that what you are saying about Samara?

if you don't have Tali in your sqaud, then she helps out the Quarians, they should give you a choice, thats why I brought the 3 LI caps for ME2. Lets say I bring Liara, Miri, Garrus and Thane, Grunt and Legion. Tali goes back to the Quarians, Ash/Kaidan help the Alliance, Jacob maybe goes undercover for Cerberus and gives intel and Jack goes underground and gets you connected to the gangs.

Here ya go kraidy:

Choice#1)  Miranda is not in game at all

Choice#2) Miranda is in game, but you in the 3 minute cameo she has you find out she has moved to Eden Prime where she bought a house for her and Shep.  She spends all day wearing a big heavy apron, cleaning the house, and making sure a hot dinner is on the table for when Shep comes home from a hard day of shooting geth and saving the galaxy.  Her largest ambition in life is now to produce a litter of Shep babies.

Which would you go with? :P

As for Samara, if they give her a cameo like Wrex and then you can still talk to her though out the game then near the end she helps you (if she is dead a squadmate dies) would you realy complain? It would be good to have Samara as a squadmate, but she could work well as a cameo.

There's no point to cameos for the love interests any longer. Ashley/Kaidan and Liara were sidelined so they were made sure to survive to have integral roles in ME3. The writers have ME3 down easier when they know certain squad mates for everyone are alive. Since there is no ME4, there is no point to cameos for the love interests any longer as there is nothing to import from ME3.
