hi all :)

just bought mass effect 2 and have the code for theCerberus dlc.
i have an account at ea and bioware, attached to my xbox live gamer profile.
if i submit the code via my account, will the dlc be available to all the gamer accounts on my console?
i bought the game more for my fiance, and of course, we have seperate gamer profiles, so when he plays me2, i need to know the cerberus dlc (and any weapons/armour included) will be available for him?

it may seem like a daft question, but i have never redeemed a code in this manner before. and after realising that avatar items purchased on one account, are not available to all on the console, i'm now unsure about all purchased downloads.

thanks in advance for any help
jan x

just reading through messages on this board regarding the cerberus dlc.

there seem to have been some issues with it?

on your walkthrough it says the code is redeemable via this site or the 'in game' screen.

is one option more successful than the other?

or would you reccommend one, over the other?

thanks

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that the DLC ties to the game / console itself. So any account playing Mass Effect on your console with have access to it, regardless of the user that is logged in.

However, this might be one you'll want to contact EA directly for, as this forum is more for user assistance from other users than a direct assistance forum.

thanks Icinix

i've just this second come off the phone with customer support.

i was very aware of the cost per minute of the call lol, so explained my question quickly, and was told that for the dlc to be available to my fiance, he would have to purchase it as well.

i find this very strange!

we have purchased dlc for every game we own (that it becoms available for) and we've never had to buy it twice, so we can both play!

i'm hoping customer support mis-heard me, and advised me wrongly.

i think i'll send them a 'contact us' on the ea site, just to confirm.

again, thanks for your reply :)

if anyone else has had this issue, or has downloaded cerberus, and played it using more than one profile on thier console, i'd be grateful if you'd let me know.

That is indeed the strangest thing I have ever heard...

Having to buy two lots of the same DLC for one game? That can't be right.

I'm interested to see what your results are for this.

Good luck!

i've emailed them via the ea/help page, and will come back and post whatever reply i get.

thanks :)
hoping the luck is 'good' and we don't need 2 lots of dlc to enjoy this game lol

My wife has a separate gamertag, she can access any DLC I download from the Cerberus network, and both Kasumi and the appearance pack, DLC armors, all of which are 'attached' to my gamertag.

Pretty much any DLC or XBLA game you buy on the Xbox is available to all gamertags on the original Xbox they are purchased on, and to the original gamertag on any other Xbox if it is logged into Live.

Edit: The other gamertag won't be able to 'log in' to the Cerberus Network, but it will still have access to all the DLC in-game regardless.
