yup, my first class in ME2 was the vanguard and I loved it. I played as Adept and soldier...Then I played as the Sentinel and that became my new favorite. Now I've played as engineer for a couple playthroughs and I think Engi is my very most favorite class.

I still haven't played a single insanity playthrough with infiltrator, i am not really into the cloak :\\

Only played infiltrator and vanguard in ME1. Vanguard was more fun.

Too bad.A vanguard with singularity was even more fun.I dont like the infiltrator now.In Mass Effect,i use tech powers as much as assasination and marksmen. Now sometimes incinerate and hacking. Not very appealing.Engineer with sniper rifle was better for me.
I even like the soldier more then the infiltrator now.Better health, weapon damage, surviability and more ammo powers.

Oh,biotic classes are still my favorites.

Vanguard/Infiltrator/Adept, in that order, in both games. :)

I played the soldier pretty much exclusively in Mass Effect 1. In Mass Effect 2 I tried, but realized it wasn't quite the tank class it used to be. so now I play the Sentinel instead.

Generally, in ME1 I preferred caster classes, both biotic and tech.

In ME2 I enjoy "in your face" combat much more, thus I find the vanguard, a non-widow soldier and a CQC infiltrator most fun.

I was actually quite surprised at this 180 degree turn in my own preferrences...

ME 1

Adept, Soldier, Vanguard, Infiltrator, Engineer, Sentinel

ME 2

Engineer, Soldier, Infiltrator, Vanguard, Sentinel, Adept

Really liked the Engineer class in ME2. Adept I feel got downgraded due to the fact that you have to take out the enemies shields before you can do the fun stuff like throw or pull. Its funny how Adept went first to last between the two games and engineer when from near last to first on my list.

I think it's partially to do with their class ability. Every other class in the game got some seriously cool signature ability ranging from bullet time to teleportation to cloaking and what did the poor Adept get? A critically nerfed version of what they already had. Ouch.

In terms of gameplay:

Adept (Singularity/Lift spamming) for ME1, followed by Infriltrator, followed by Vanguard, followed by Sentinel.

Infriltrator for ME2, followed by Vanguard, followed by Sentinel, followed by Adept.

I enjoy being a super sniper gamer but I consider the Sentinel my main because I think Biotics/Tech makes for a more interesting character (although Shephard's class doesn't really play into the Mass Effect story).

Can't really justify an Engineer because I make frequent use of Tech squadmates and I think enough of the Soldier experience exists in playthroughs of other classes to make playing it redundant.

ME1; Vanguard, Infiltrator, Sentinel.

ME2, Vanguard was my go to class. It's still probably my favorite. I like combat + biotics. My class preference hasn't changed much, but I will say I find the all the classes a lot more interesting in the sequel.

The Vanguard was like the Robert Downey Jr of the Mass Effect classes. Could it be any cooler? In ME1, this was apparent through the awesome mix of combat prowess and biotics, but apparently BioWare decided not to stop there when they concluded the only way to make the Vanguard cooler was to send it FLYING THROUGH THE AIR AT INCREDIBLY FAST SPEEDS AND RAMMING INTO AN ENEMY, SENDING HIM FLYING (preferably off a cliff) WHILE GIVING ANYONE IN MY WAY LEAD ENEMAS.

Hell yeah.

Sentinel was my favorite in ME1 and still is in ME2. After that probably soldier for all the guns. Don't really have much opinion on the others.

I never liked the Soldier class and that hasn't changed. They really gimped the Adept too much for my preferred style of play. The Vanguard style in ME2 doesn't appeal to me either. Sentinel tech armor and good mix of powers is the sh!t. I love my attack drone so the Engineer class has stepped up it's game.

All things considered though, the Infiltrator is still my preferred class.  The fuk'n Widow is the Alpha & Omega of the ME galaxy to me. Whoever is responsible for gifting us with this beastly SR is my new BFF.

My class preferences change in-game (ME2). I think someone called it "class Indecision Syndrome" here on the forums. I simply haven't been able stay with one class yet to finish the game. I love each class (haven't tried Adept yet, only one missing), it's just I get curious about other classes' strong points and get an itch to try them out too. Right now I'm on Infiltrator. I think it's gonna be a tough one to drop, though...

ME 1:
Inflitrator, Vanguard

ME 2:
Soldier Soldier Soldier

I definatelly did not see that coming, as I dislike playing vanilla class. But the Soldier's close/med/long range combat effectiveness and funnest triumpts all classes.(maybe not Vanguard, but that class is a one trick pony.)
