Where are all the ME2 writers?  Some of them posted quite regularly on the old forums and offered a great deal of insight into how the games were developed.

Before the release of ME2 there was a great deal of anxiety from fans about certain paths the story and characters were going and the general message from the writers was “trust us” and “wait for the game.”

Well we waited and to say ME2 has some controversial story and character elements that disappointed many fans would be an understatement.  Three months and a lame comic book series that did nothing to quell any fears later and we still haven’t heard one iota from the writers.

So why the silence?

Different string of command with different rules about disclosure.

There just isin't anynmore good writers anymore, in my opinion. The writers now a days just seem so "now-a-days". No one can write a good novel anymore. It's "today". It's silent becasue there isn't nothing to be looked into. It's a shame the way we all truned out. I kinda wish John Lennon's reality, would BE our reality. But other than that, I think the magic ended with ME1. Drew K has a way of really showing the Mass universe. ME1 was great, the idea and look was all there. And the way it was developed and put together (so to speak, maybe not the best of describing it) and ME1 felt like Mass Effect perfectly.

The books are good too, but nothing to compare to a great Sci-Fi novel. We just need to wait to the next good Gen. comes around.

Well, if it's not because of disclosure issues (as TJ mentioned), it's probably because they wouldn't like reading the forum only to have people insinuate that they could do a better job than they do.

You do know you can't refute my statement and then use "probably" for your assumption.
Disclosure, to give out information.
The Bioware now has different rules about giving information. Is better for you? I had to break up the big word into smaller bits.

You do know you don't have to lash out against everyone and try to correct every tidbit of imperfect grammar on the forums, right?

I think alot of it does have to do with abuse that people would dish out. Game devsand the like are just no good at rejection. Whilst I belive if someone is going to critic someone elses work, atleast try to make sense of it instead of going at them in a huge rant.

Not exactly lashing out when my statement and name get mentioned. Replying and supporting my statement.
I suck at grammar. I don't correct anyone over it.

Well, ME 2 has been out for a good while now. I have to think they are working on something else. Just because a writer or a group of them worked on one project doesnt mean they stay attached at the hip too it forever.

I'd have to imagine they moved on and are doing other things by now.

Once a month, one poster makes an interesting point in the forums. The rest of the month is **** posts, social posts, repeat posts, and goofing around. When the writers post, the inevitably attract the beard stroking dip****s. So why bother?

I'm glad they're off working on their next project rather than replying to dumb ass posts in the forums.

This is probably why they don't stick around.

Hopefully they're hard at work coming up with a great story for ME3 or an ME2 expansion. This is probably the time when they're most busy. In the lead up to ME2 I imagine their schedule was a lot lighter because the bottleneck would be in other areas of development.

I don't know, but I hope to hear from them. I personally feel that the writing in Mass Effect 2 was much better than Mass Effect- particularly with characterization and humor.

Lets just hope they really care about what the fans have to say about this. Forums are great places for game developers/writers/etc to get some insight into what the people that buy their product want.

You don’t really believe that there was any real writing done for ME2 do you?

I did not see any sort of what is called real writing done for ME2 myself so have not even bothered to comment on the game.

If devs went off what forum users want in there games, the devs would have to shut up shop within the week. We as forum users are still the minority when it comes to the actual games audience, and even as small a number as we are. Its very rare for us to agree with each other on what should be in the game or not.

This is why devs just need some basic input from the fans, and then left to get on with the job. Rockstar don't even have official forums for most of there games, and I put this down to them creating games that they would want to play. If a developer has the right ideas to put in a game, they need to be left alone to get on with it.

The reason they are creating games and we are using a forum. Is because they know how to make games and went out and done it.

After all the BioWare games I have played. I can safetly say I can trust them to make a great game, even if we don't see them around the forums alot.

Why would the writers show up at all? It'll just be a whine fest on "Why did you change this?" or "How come that wasn't done?"

They're probably writing the final instances of ME3 and possibly more ME games down the line.

In other words, they're too busy right now.

I tell it how it is, if the writers don’t like it to bad.

I gave them top marks for ME1 but ME2 the writing is very amateurish, if they want to hear lies and say so then i will lie.

If you like the game then enjoy, i don’t so i say what is my opinion.

i think part of why there was such huge dev forum activity before launch is that everyone was done with work and they were just waiting for the game to ship. the writers were probably among the first to finish their jobs so that the artists and voice actors could go from there.

with that said, it makes sense that there would be a spike in dev activity when the project is done but waiting to ship. i imagine a lot of those devs are back to work now and don't have the luxury of forum browsing or the disclosure to reveal new content.

i also noticed more dev activity in general on the old forums.

*sigh* Sometimes I wonder why haters of ME2 are so bent on getting there minority opinion out.

Ok, watch these two videos:

You cannot honestly tell me the writing in the first video is better than in the second.

Why don’t you edit the whole game to say exactly what you want it to if that makes you feel good?
