For me ME2 is just like a side mission for ME1 with out any substance.

*snip*

Characters and silly character missions for approval do not make good writing, only a thoughtfully developed story with real characters that are meaningful to the plot make good writing.

All i see is a poor understanding of writing. If you feel you know exactly what makes a great story, write something, hand it to a hundred publishers, see if even one of them don't throw it back to you as "rubbish" then come back and tell us how a story should be. In the meantime, stick to fan fiction, the internet masses aren't worried about actual sales vs costs.

Well, if it's not because of disclosure issues (as TJ mentioned), it's probably because they wouldn't like reading the forum only to have people insinuate that they could do a better job than they do.

You do know you can't refute my statement and then use "probably" for your assumption.
Disclosure, to give out information.
The Bioware now has different rules about giving information. Is better for you? I had to break up the big word into smaller bits.

You do know you don't have to lash out against everyone and try to correct every tidbit of imperfect grammar on the forums, right?

:wizard:

Not exactly lashing out when my statement and name get mentioned. Replying and supporting my statement.
I suck at grammar. I don't correct anyone over it.

You know, they weren't refuting your statement as they used 'if' as in, if its not this then it could be that.  They were reiterating what you said, then mentioning what it would be if it wasn't that.  They at no point said anything refuting your statement, in fact it could have been taken as supporting it, as they were essentially saying that it was one of two possibilities.

Clearly the writers take on the names of the characters they created and visit these forums. Its so obvious, people!

Someone from BioWare even defended planet scanning. If they don't even try to defend their writing, what does that say, I wonder?

But here's a newsflash for you: The MMO players will not put up with this kind of total non-communication. Why not train how to communicate with a community by talking to us?

So in your words i need to become a writer to have an opinion on what makes a good story.

Are you saying the ME2 writers did a good job? If you are saying that then are you a writer? Because by your definition you should not have an opinion if something is good or bad.

Try reading what you post next time.

This might be shocking news to many, but they are probably working on ME3.

I got an odd idea: Maybe Bioware should open a forum for writers to whine and bash players in their spare time. THAT would be fun...

Yeah. Except they still interacted with us when working on ME2.
