Simply put, those that use the N7 armor parts, whats your build? What for? Cosmetic, or stats?

Example:

Head: None

Chest: Shield Harness

Arms: Heavy Damping Gauntlets

Shoulders: Asymmetric Defense Layer

Legs: Life Support Webbing

Together: Looks like a juggernaut. Perfect for soldiers
Used it mostly for cosmetic purposes, since 5% isn't that big of a difference.

Oh! And color scheme, if you want! Mine: Black and Green

Interested in hearing (or seeing, if you got screenshots) on what other builds the fans have!

I wonder if ayone makes an armor build suited for their alignment? I've found the Aegis Vest is suitable for Renegades, imo.

I think my layout is roughly the same as the two above, and i've had two colour schemes so far, first was crimson with black detail and the second was all black with purple detail.

Aegis Vest

Asymmetric Defense Layer

Just for the aesthetic purposes, never use helmets apart from the last mission.

I have planned armor builds for all six classes, but Infiltrator is the only class I've really gotten into in the game, so that's the only one that's set in stone. I tend to prefer practicality over appearance since...let's be real, all of the armor options look great. The only thing I refuse to do is hide my Shepard's face. No Recon Hood, no Death Mask...as if I'd ever use the Death Mask anyway.

Anyway, here's my INF armor:

Kuwashi Visor
Aegis Vest
N7 Shoulder Guards
Stabilization Gauntlets
Life Support Webbing

The color scheme is a dull grey with a touch of dark blue.

My favorite infiltrator set:
head - recon hood
chest - capacitor chestplate
shoulders - strength boost pads
arms - stabilization gauntlets
legs - stimulator conduits

Both looks good and gives appropriate cqc infiltrator bonuses (+10% damage, +25% melee, +10% storm speed, +10% shield recharge). Color scheme: black base with black or blue secondary, pattern 3 with dark grey pattern color.

I wonder of this is normal, but I have all the DLC (except that illusive Incisor) and whenever I know I'm going on a mission where my helmet is on, I change it to Blood Dragon, or some such thing. Anyone else do that?

many people do that for a few missions, but then get lazy and just leave their favourite armour on.

I left blood dragon armour on me for the entire game because I was too lazy to change it to no helmet armour before every mission

As a vanguard/sentinel defence is important, so:

Aegis vest/Shield harness

Sentry interface

Asymetric defense layer

Life support webbing

Heavy damping gauntless, or for looks (and iirc extra weapon damage as vanguard) stabilization gauntless. When it works, off-hand ammo pack is good.

Vanguard

Normal/breather N7 helmet

Aegis Vest

Strength Boost Pads

Stabilization Gauntlets

Life Support Webbing

Last material option

First pattern option (with this gear, the annoying stripe of the pattern is removed)

Primary color: pitch black

Secondary color: blood red

Pattern color: blood red

This is my favorite set-up for both looks and stat bonuses. :)

Completely depends on the class. Melee damage and storming for aggressive, power damage shoulders and life support webbing for defensive. I always end up with the visor since most of the dr. pepper ones look silly and you should be aiming at people's heads if you use guns. Off-hand ammo and whichever chest regenerates shields are staples as well.

I also tend to change to everything with weapon damage for soldiers/infiltrators assuming its > 3% and everything power damage for adept (does ppwer damage affect drones?) depending on how much damage everythings doing and all that.

For my soldier I use the DLC Ceberus Armour or the Terminus Armor

My other classes use customizeable gear, Usually with a very plain looking gray color with a tanish secondary to make the Armour look rusty and used. Or I use a very Dark yellow and blood-red to make a mercenary look, kinda like Zaeed.

I pick parts that make my armor look thin, kinda like the light armor from ME1. I don't like the huge and bulky look.

Thin armour means those bullets pass right through you as if you were a piece of paper.

Its funny that practically everything looks good on a male Shepard, but most of it is awful on the female except for the default stuff. Though I prefer the strength boost pads on her over the N7 ones.

Anyone else feel the same?
