I still play it occasionally.

Hell, I still occasionally play Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind!

I bought the GOTY edition a couple months ago because I wanted to play it again. Since then I've finished the mages and thieves guild storylines.

One of the things that I love about the game is that the lore is f**king juicy, all the books and stuff make the game much more enjoyable.

I surely don't. I find it incredibly boring, dull and repetitive. The world is the typical medieval fantasy world... not like Morrowind. Heck, cliff racers, kaguti, ALITS?! And the netches? They all look different to everything! Then Oblivion came and went with Bears, wolves, deers, horses, boredom...

I agree w Dark Lauron - I found Morrowind more engrossing than oblivion - but I still play both, they're relaxing diversions, as someone else said.

I don't actually have it installed anymore :( I lost a lot of hours to it, though.

Might have to reinstall it and get a lot of mods. I do actually need to get the disc again (will probably get GotY edition) because mine's getting pretty scratched.

Lifts-Her-Tail: Certainly not, kind sir! I am here but to clean your chambers.
Crantius Colto: Is that all you have come here for, little one? My chambers?
Lifts-Her-Tail: I have no idea what it is you imply, master. I am but a poor Argonian maid.
Crantius Colto: So you are, my dumpling. And a good one at that. Such strong legs and shapely tail.
Lifts-Her-Tail: You embarrass me, sir!
Crantius Colto: Fear not. You are safe here with me.
Lifts-Her-Tail: I must finish my cleaning, sir. The mistress will have my head if I do not!
Crantius Colto: Cleaning, eh? I have something for you. Here, polish my spear.
Lifts-Her-Tail: But it is huge! It could take me all night!
Crantius Colto: Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time.

They say

The Iliac Bay
Is the place to barrel around
Without a bit of apparel on,
As advertised in that carol song
A tune that's sung as the west wind blows
About it lovely not wearing any clothes.
Ladies singing high notes, men singing lows,
Implying that the most luscious depravity
And complete absence of serious gravity
Can only be found in the waterous cavity
Of Iliac Bay.

If you are the type who is more a sinner than a sinned,
You'll find it all in Morrowind.

But the truth, my child,
Is that nothing more wild
That an ordinary fashion
Kind of slightly mad passion
Can be detected if at all
In Sentinel and Daggerfall.

Whatever your odd needs: feathered, scaled, or finned,
You'll find it all in Morrowind

It's an invention of bards
That Bretons and Redguards
Have more than some staid fun
And suffer deviant fornication.
For the most of madness, not the least,
The wise debaucher heads out east.

Where your once steely reserve is now merely tinned,
You'll find it all in Morrowind.

In Morrowind,
There is sin.
But, pray, do not confuse Dunmer variety
With that found in tepid Western society
Compared to which, it nearly is piety.
It isn't terribly ingenious calling it prudery
Observing the Dark Elf aversion to nudity.
After all, the preferred sort of lewdity
In these parts is far more pernicious.
From the Ashlanders to the wettest fishes
You'll find pleasure and pain quite delicious
In Morrowind.

If you find yourself with unkind kinship with your kin
You'll find it all in Morrowind.

I stopped playing it shortly after beating the main quest line... I had finished most of the other quests so there really wasn't much to do other than just roam around looking for those 100 darn nirnroots!

Yep I stopped playing it for awhile but I started playing with my Elf vampire and orc warrior just a few days ago. I'm about to start the shivering isles with my orc.

I pick it up only when I'm in the mood for it, which is not very often, especially recently. Usually if I feel like playing an Elder Scrolls game, I pick up Morrowind, although on occasion I'll play Oblivion, if only to RP a character from Morrowind or something. It's very difficult for me to get into it, especiall since I start over every time I play(after a long break) and everything goes almost exactly the same every time.

Not to hate on the game though, I do like it. It's probably one of the better rpg's in recent years.

I just can't get into Bethesda games. I got suckered in with great reviews in Morrowind. Vowed to pay more attention next time. Fell for Oblivion again. Vowed to never ever get a Bethesda game again. Fell for it a third time with Fallout 3. I thought they just couldn't possibly get this wrong, but again, I wasn't a fan. Bethesda just doesn't tell good stories, for me.

So, while I do have Oblivion, I'm not playing any of these anymore. If anything, I'll spend my time replaying:

Planescape: Torment

Baldur's Gate 2

KotOR

Jade Empire

The Witcher

Gothic 1 & 2

Mass Effect

Dragon Age

and that's pretty much it as far as RPGs are concerned.

Currently doing another Oblivion runthrough. I got tired of abusing the heck out of my Tab key in every new space with every possible companion to find the conversation triggers in Awakening.I gave up, basically. It isn't worth the aggravation to attempt to talk to companions. If any new DA game has the same conversation system as Awakenings, I'm not going to bother. The conversations my pc has with companions is a large part of the game for me; running around clicking on trees, statues, or dirt isn't.

Another part of Oblivion and Morrowind that I love is that you can walk just about anywhere. Yes, you can take damage and kill yourself jumping off a cliff. But I so appreciate the ability to walk over a small hill, or through the water at the edge of a pond/lake/stream. I hate that hill in Lothering; it isn't steep, it isn't a vertical cliff face, it isn't the height of Everest. But you can't walk over it. In the Wilds you can't take a shortcut through ankle-deep water.Oh well. ::heads back to Chorrol and the Priory::

VATS killed FO3 for me. I should get a mod that nerfs VATS and play FO3 again because I almost liked it.

Isn't that the truth. FO3 was so much more engaging to me without VATS. I don't know about any mods that get rid of it though. You can always just ignore it - I only use it to scan an area on occasion.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a First-Person game when you can just press a (potentially) unlimited win button.
