I really cant stand the way MaleSheps turn out, always with the wrinkles around eyes and mouth. I would like to make a younger looking guy in his late 20s. BioWare if you were to make a better Face Generater for ME 1 and 2, whether as DLC or a patch. I would be willing to PAY for it for both games. Please consider this.

The thing about looking like you are in your 20s, Shepard is 30-31, depending on when his birthday is. I know there are people who are 30 and look like they are 20, but Shep is a soldier. I'm more bothered about the fact that there aren't more choices like different lipsticks for women. But that's cause I'm a girl lol

Thats also what i think the problem is, not enough options. Let me rephrase, the only things that bothered me are the Hair and the wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. If they fixed those i would be so happy../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png

Yes the customization in both Mass Effect games was bad, but I think it was pretty low of BioWare to not even touch it in Mass Effect 2.

Bollocks to realism. If I want a male Shepard with scars and ponytail, I should be able to have it. Not be worried that its not what they would have in the army. Its hundreds of years set in the furture and its a video game.

I really do hope BioWare do a much better job with it in Mass Effect 3.

Wouldn't that make Shep look younger as (s)he has received more extensive gene modification and is in better shape than the average human.

This may be a little bit off topic, but I'm new to the site, and I've been playing ME2 for a while, and really like most of the characters (especcially Garrus, Tali, Mordin and Legion) and I've seen lots of people with profile pictures with those people on them, but I can't get them. Could somebody please explain to me how to get those, and also why most threads say that I don't meet the requirements to post on them? If anybody could help, I'd really appreciate it.

You need to have registered your game to be able to post in many forums.

People with custom avatars use a Dragon Age-related trick.

Thanks. That's good to know. I'll register my ME2, it just makes me sad that I won't be able to get any awesome profile pics...

Honestly the customization in DA:O was far superior to ME especially with the nose customization. the nose always looks horrible in ME.

other than that I'm satisfied with what ME2 gave me.

Except when they removed the scar over my Shepards eye that kinda pissed me off I realize he already had scars from his repair but the scar over his eye was like his signature to me and what made him my Shepard he got that on Akuze.

Got a 9 page thread going, check it yo *points to sig*

If you're unhappy with your face once in-game, you can change it later by importing a new head (still requires a new game, but at least you can get well lit views on the Normandy for testing); see the stickied 360 mod thread.

Shepard is 32, of course he's going to look a little old. I can make Shepards just fine.

It's not so much that you can't make good Shepards with the current system, but like a PP sig thread said, it's pretty hard given the angles and stuff. And would it have killed them to include hairstyles like Nef, Kelly and other people had? The stuff is already there!

But I've made one Shep that I absolutely love, so I'm pretty much set for Shepards. But having new hairsyles would be nice.

If you want the hairstyles, just use the save editor. I can make Shepards just fine, it's not that hard as long as you know how the bone system works.

Chill, my good freind. Anger kills.

I agree with the O.P. The face generator is not that good - never has been - and I have yet to see one that is good. I suspect it is a very difficult task.

Yeah, but if you don't like it then you are pretty much screwed unless you made a backup for it. I'm not mad that they didn't include it, I'm just saying that they should have. Personally, I loved the whole interface for customizing, it was very pretty. But it shouldn't be so hard to make a good looking character, especially for people who are new to the ME series.

I agree, besides the Sims 2-3 (which uses more simple art, so it doesn't really count) there are very few "good" ones. Oblivion's was the worst, I think. So ME's is definitely an improvement in some areas.

Oblivion's is terrible. I can't help but make a Neanderthal every time. Drives me nuts. But the options for ME2, with crazy inverted eyes and noses that slope the wrong direction. I mean, the options they offer are not even possible, anatomically speaking. Really weird.

The default manshep looks good, but I have trouble making a good looking custom one unless its heavily based on the default.

The default femshep looks bad, but I find it easy to make a good looking custom femshep.

At any rate, its at least its not Oblivion/Fallout 3 facegen....

The Fallout 3 one wasn't as bad as Oblivion, and I respected how much you could change with Oblivion's, but I really really really don't want to spend hours just creating a character's face. Fail.
