I also think the eyes need more options because the current eye options look very weird IMO.

Most important:
Does anyone who uses saveedit know if there's a way to actually mesh edit the head somehow, ANYhow?
Does it anything have to do with BIOG_Male_Player_C.upk or BIOG_Player_C.upk?
Or has anybody tried UDK to deal with upk's?

This is not DAO, tyou are a soldier, marines don't have long hair
They don't have beards either. Especially not shaped beards. Bioware is just lazy.

I know plenty of 30-35 year olds and none of them have the horrible complexion that I've seen of some MaleSheps.
And the "soldier" argument is a cop out.
Bioware won't try to improve it for ME3 though.
As much as Fallout 3 sucked, their custom faces are far superior to Mass Effect's.
Fallout 3 has no customization. You're either a mexican with a thin head or a mexican with a fat head. Oh, and you can be a really tanned mexican to a zombie plae mexican.

err, joking?
custom mansheps are kinda fail, but custom femsheps are pretty good. Fallout3 faces are pretty much fail all round
Just because you suck at making malesheps does not mean the character creator sucks. ME has one of the best. Femsheps are the ones that clearly "suck" seeing as all they all look the same with different hair. I don't even know why people bother posting them on the "Shepard Pic" threads. It's rare that you see one that is actually unique.

The other thing... those best femSheps are modded Sheps... so I am for sure bothered with this tool...

Getting tired of having to wait 12-15 minutes for the intro to finish before I can do anything with the face creator. Then another 10 minutes to find out all Male shepards have the exact three looks. Generic, black featured white face, or old man.
I really hope they add more things for DLC, because its just getting dull and preventing me from starting a new game. I have tried a new game 5 times in the last 2 days and have finally given up.
Personally I don't like the idea of the using the default Shepard face. When a game gives you a create face option, it is usually so that you can connect with your own character. But its just so dull in this game.

From what I hear, Shepard is supposed to be 32. The look of 32 can be tricky as can any age as people age differently. I would say the default Shepard looks his age. You create your own Shepard and he looks change from 20-25, 40-45, 45-50.
It needs a better system where you can tweak each section properly. Especially those fudged up eye sets.

I'm just bothered you can't *edit* your face upon importing. It's like "import the face or start the whole face over."
You can do this, sorta. When you import, it'll show you your face code. Copy that, then click to create a new custom face. Paste the code back into the box. Tweak as desired

Its a shame we can't do that on the 360.

Yeah, I have the perfect maleshep from ME1, but I can't recreate him for the life of me. I'd love to be able to get a face code so that I could just tweak it slightly between plays.

I thought both Oblivion and Fallout 3 had ridiculous face creation systems. You could never alter a single section without it stretching something else. In the end my character looked like a gurning fat head...glad I played in first person so I could never get a look at him.
Its a shame EA never gave BioWare access to there player creation programs. Both Godfather and the EA sports range have very good player creation systems. The best alround though has to be Saints Row 2. I thought the gameplay was crap when compared to GTA IV, but I used to love making created faces for the community to enjoy.
My character in Fallout 3 turned out 10 times more realistic as opposed to my Shepard.

There really is no noticeable difference between what a 29 year old looks like and a 31/32 year old looks like.

Well you CAN edit faces with the Gibbed Save Editor, no matter if they're from ME1 or ME2TheSeventhJedi wrote...

To leave it untouched was really bad.
Bring back scars, bline eye scars, tweak the iris colour to what ever you like. lots of hair styles which you can make longer so you can tell if the clipping will be bad or not. tweak the eyes to how wide or low you want the lids, plus angles you want the eyes at.
Basically every face customization system most other games use these days.

As for wrinkles around eyes and such, well, Shepard isn't exactly a kid or a teenager or just out of puberty. I personally would assume that his age would be between 30 and 40. So few wrinkles here and there are quite OK, they add a character. No normal face is as smooth as an elven arse at that age.
My Shepard looks like below. It fits me well, to me my Shepard is somewhere in mid-30's, a man who's seen a lot of action, been to many strange places, seen things what others haven't even dreamt of and, heck, he even died and came back. If anything, there should be more facial scar options. Of course, more hairstyles wouldn't hurt either. But all in all, I am satisfied with the face and personally consider custom male faces to be by far better and more original then all of the "made from the same block" female faces. And ME2 has definitely more options then ME1, hopefully ME3 will get even more.

I don't know why so many are crying that custom male Shepard faces look bad. So make a better one. As far as I have seen none of the custom female ones look exactly that good either. Funnily enough they pretty much all have exactly the same "base line". I don't know why but it seems like custom female Shepards are all made from the same face. At least I never got such feeling with male Shepard faces.

Oh, but your shep is "ugly" because... because... because he has facial hair and looks gruff? Like someone who can be taken seriously as a veteran soldier.
Perphap if he shaved and wore makeup he wouldn't be so "ugly".
One of the main things I notice about malesheps that genuinely aren't good is that they have too much space between the nose and upper lip. When you give a face weird proportions it's the creators fault, not the character creator itself.

The strange thing is, is that when your in the create face screen. Your actual face in the game looks totally different. Then pause the game and a better version of your creation is in the upgrade screen.

As for faces feeling the same, then main issue here is perhaps those first 3 digits when you create the face. These which determine the head and face shape. If there would be more options there then it probably would also give a wider face "base", so to say.
