Picking it up tomorrow on the 360 after work hopefully, and I'm psyched for it as a big fighting game fan. Anyone else plan on getting it? Could we get an off-topic Street Fighter tournament going? :o

I was thinking of getting it but without an arcade stick I kind of feel that I'm not getting the full experience out of fighting games (evident from my struggles with MvC2 and SF4). The crappy dpad is a huge deterrent for me but I still might pick it up.

Unfortunately I can't. After reading Eurogamer's review I *really* wanted it too. :crying: I can only hope Capcom sees fit to release another PC port but it's doubtful they will bother. From everything I read this game would've answered many of my complaints about Street Fighter IV too. Ah well, c'est la vie.

My wife wants that game, I'm not sure why as we have IV for the PS3 but she wants it, and spend another $15 on extra costumes for the game no doubt...$15 I could put towards Mass Effect and finally get into the story for ME2.

You should get Mass Effect first. That said, it's worth it. There are several added characters and the gameplay has been balanced considerably. To anyone that plays Street Fighter IV frequently, the differences will be noticeable. I own SFIV too and I still want it... badly. :pinched:

So far it's been worth it, Hakan is awesome. I think I found a new main. :D

I've never played Street Fighte IV, but I tend to enjoy fighting games. I might pick this up for the PS3. Abel looks badass.

I'm looking forward to trying out Juri. Kick based characters always catch my eye. I've mained Chun-Li since SF2 with an occasional deviation to Cammy or Charlie now and again. About the only way SSFIV could be better is if he was there. I can't stand Guile's looks. -.- Wish I could play it... Capcom is evil. :(

@Kordas - Is it true old characters have their old themes back? Because if they do: awesome. Awesome to max. :D

I'll wait for hyper-turbo Street Fighter IV championship edition Alpha 3.

Yup, as far as I can telll they're essentially updated versions of the old themes.

That settles it. I need that soundtrack. The game would be nice too. :P It annoyed me how only a handful of those old tracks made it into SFIV.

Tekken 6 > Street Fighter IV. Tekken is for real men. Street Fighter IV is a button mashing competition.

Having played Tekken for years until I finally stopped at Tekken 4... and Street Fighter since SF2... I disagree. They both require skill to win at a high level of play but neither game is remotely simple to master. Street Fighter games aren't anywhere near button mashers. Street Fighter III in particular is one of the deepest 2D fighters I've ever played. Even the much simpler crazily paced Street Fighter vs X-Men/Marvel Super Heroes or Marvel vs Capcom aren't button mashers. I'd say the simplest game with Street Fighter characters in it was, strangely enough, the SNK vs Capcom series. Those weren't button mashers either. Just not very complex.

I'm not counting Puzzle Fighter because that was more of a novelty game.

This was a midnight release pickup for me (on the 360), I love Street Fighter. It'd be fun to play against you guys. If we have enough people, we could do Endless or Team battles. Or even a little tournament as Kordras suggested. :D

Seagloom, check out this link: http://vgm.shxmedia.net/ssf4/
You can download at least a good portion of the soundtrack there, along with the newly added character themes. There are some good ones in there,  and they finally did Vega!  (It might make you want the game even more)

Too late. I already ripped the new music from Youtube HD videos last night. :pinched:

They're just placeholder until an actual CD comes out though. With the exception of music tracks Interplay released for the IE games years back, I prefer to rip all my own music. Unless those MP3s are at least 320kpbs and made from a good converter I'm not interested. They're probably better than what I have now, but not enough to be worth the added effort. It *does* make me want the game more though. I almost died when I heard Balrog's theme again. (Hate the character, always loved his theme.) Also love hearing some of those SFIII tracks again. Makes me nostalgic. :)

A few of these were mangled though due to the style. I was so excited to hear Gen's SFA2 track until discovering how they butchered it. :crying: I did like what they did with Vega's though. :D I'm not buying a console for *one* game but if any has ever made me seriously consider it, it's this one. I keep hearing good things about it.

Sweet, someone else! :P If you feel like playing some, let me know. Gamertag is Kordras. I'm doing particularly awful though. >_>

SSF4 is pretty damn good so far, especially for those who never played SF4. All characters unlocked, rebalancing, bonus stages. I was also able to pick up a SF4 arcade stick (the normal one, not the Tournament Edition) for $40, which is like $30 less than when it came out (or something like that) at Gamestop. So if you can stomach going to Gamestop to look for one, do it, as they are more than awesome enough for the price tag.

Kordras, sure thing, I'm definitely up for it. My GT is Prime Executor. Maybe Mr. Skar wants to join in on the fun too. I got one of those arcade sticks as well, but back when SF4 came out. The "right" direction stopped working after not too long, kind of a small problem... I need to open it up and take a look. I've been hesitant to do that though, so I'm stuck with the controller for now.

I was hoping for a bonus disc with the soundtrack myself, but I heard they only had that released in Japan. Not sure though. It definitely makes me feel nostalgic too! In this game you also have an option to use those character themes instead of the stage music, which is awesome. I think you have to beat arcade mode first though to unlock that setting.

Well that particular stick I bought is for when I trek over to my friends house and use his PS3. Gotta play it the way I want to. For the 360 I have my Hori stick, which has superior button response (Sanwa components son, what do you expect?) and a bit more even of a gate for the stick. I dunno if I'm right in this, but the square gate on the MadCatz feels a little more rectangular than the Hori. Hard to describe.

Oh and shoot me a PM if you guys want to beat my scrub ass at this game. Currently representing my favorite 3S characters Makoto and Ibuki.

Will definitely add you guys soon. Might be on a little bit tomorrow, but I won't be back on after that 'till next week. Gone to the beach for a weekend. :)

But yeah, having so much fun with it. Back to using Blanka/Honda now though, Hakan was not working for me, heh. Me and a friend unknowingly destroyed our sleep schedules tonight when we accidentally stayed up playing until 4 AM... Time flies in Street Fighter. O_O

Man SSF4 Dudley is crazy similar to 3S Dudley. Makoto and ibuki not so much, but Dudley can do a lot of the same stuff. Still experimenting, gonna find a main soon I think.
