My problem is twofold.

Firstly im having trouble connecting to the cerberus network. Before anyone says anything otherwise yes i have looked at somejah's little guide to fix the problem but i've run into a roadblock at step 5.

the "hosts" file looks as follows:
"# Copyright © 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost
::1             localhost"

there is a 127 line but no EA, this file seems to be more an example then an affecting file. I'm not sure where else to be looking to help fix the "false lines" that other people seem to be having.

The second problem im having is with the redemption code that came with the game. I've bought Mass Effect 2 brand new for my pc a while back and there was an activation card with a little redemption code. I created my account and imputed the code on the redemption screen. The problem is that nothing happened with it and now it says the code has already been redeemed. There was none of the free content like Zaeed/firewalker for download. I'm not sure if i've somehow lost the credit accociated with the code or if im simply not looking in the right place to start downloading it. Upon clicking on the "Registered game promotions" there is nothing and im not sure where else on the bioware site it might be hiding.

If anybody else knows how to fix these problems  or is having similar ones it'd be great to get some feedback.

Update on this:

The Cerberus network connection problem seems to be related to the promotional code problem. Its not connecting to the network because its asking me to input the activation code. The problem being that i did input it when i first bought the game (and had the same problems with DLC i do now) but now the game seems to have forgotten that. If i try the old code it says its not active. I havent uninstalled Mass effect 2 at any point so im not sure why i've been disconnected from the first activation and had my first code become worthless.

As for the DLC problem it remains the same.

Any help is appreciated.
