OK this is actually about the conversation you have with Allistar about Duncan. When you say you would go to High ever and give him a memorial. I'm wondering when will they let us do this. HMMM. Anyone else interested in a DLC like this. I think it would definitely be fun. Plus we get to learn more about Duncan what more could a gamer ask for.

Going to Highever would be cool, but if the most interesting thing to do there is to light a funeral pyre, count me out (especially since most of my characters dislike Duncan).

We have no body to recover, so we have no body to actually burn. That's why I specified that it would be a pyre, never said there would be a body on it. Then again, Alistair seemed to want to "put something up", more like a monument.

Dunno why I thought you meant pyre in the first place.

So either way, memorial, pyre, whatever, no armor to recover.

I know David Gaider said that Duncan really is dead, but if that is truly the case, then where is his body? We are able to recover his sword and dagger from the reanimated ogre at Ostagar, but i think his armor would have been cool too. We get to recover Cailen's gear after all. Would be cool if Duncan's armor is available in future DLC. I mean, we can recover his shield in Denerim late in the game, and we never even saw him sport that before his death. If nothing else his beard should have survived.

I think we get to assume that Duncan was eaten by darkspawn, and his armor dispersed amongst them,  just like Cailan's armor was shared around.

Mr. Gaider did state if there was any continuing story on Duncan, it would have to be ..before the events of Ostagar, but I doubt he was making any promises that we would actually see a dlc or what have you..based on Duncan himself..or what exactly happened to him.

Its a loose thread I would love to see tied up and finished off..one way or another. :)

In otherwords closure.  hehe

I dont really care if it's a dlc "based" on Duncan. I accept the fact that any further elaboration on Duncan would be "prequal" type story content. Im just one of those players that likes to collect gear and I liked Duncan's look. They could have his gear be acquired like the Effort set in the future. Buy a piece here, find a piece there. But i also think some prequal Duncan story content would be interesting, too. It would have been cool to have him as a party member, at least for a bit before he died. His chapter feels a little incomplete.

he was Carried away so the necromancer could study ways to make him into a darkspawn. No really your guess is as good as mine.

There's two mods with Duncan's armor - one with stats, one without. Both work well, but only on human males.

If all you want is to learn a bit more about Duncan then The Calling novel might be an idea, if you haven't read it yet then you might not want to read this next bit, might spoil it a bit.

I'd be interested to see Alistair learn a bit about Duncan's past, considering the way Alistair talks about him I can only assume he didn't know everything, especially considering the way he talks about Daveth when you first meet him.

No they need to make a final DLC about Duncan. I think you can go back to the Ostegar year and travel deep down into the deep roads where you can chase after Duncan's body. This would be a fun idea and it would be something new. Plus they could use the broodmother model again. I think this would be interesting. Not only do you get duncan's body back, but you can get his armor as well. This would lead into Highever where you and Allistair could do a cremony type deal and you could also do some other story involved with the DLC or heck they could make the next expansion involving highever and the best way to start it would to be having them track down duncan's body.

Their best chance to do this was in RTO, and they passed it up. It's a mistake that needs to be rectified.

If they were going to do a DLC for Duncan so that you could find out more about him. What about having it set towards the journey of Ostagar?

Heck, any information would be great. There are all these NPC's in the game that talk about how Duncan is a great man, yet there is no information as to what he did to make himself loved by so many. Duncan is such an important character, yet the history about the character is so lacking, it's really a shame.

why exactly would this be a good DLC? going to highever to give him a memorial etc would be...boring...what are they going to do throw in some random BS fights for you to do? Or are you really wanting to pay $5+ to map-travel to Highever..spend maybe 2 minutes walking to the site of his "memorial" and it's over?

no, a simple epilogue box mention is MORE then sufficient....

or can you actually give examples of how this would be good?

Maybe at the start of it You and Alistair (if he is alive in your game) standing at Duncans memorial, when some one who used to know him starts talking to you about him. You mention what was he like before the start of origins as the person starts telling you, fades to black then you are controlling Duncan. Just a thought :)

I'm surprised you can't go to Highever in Origins actually. There should be an opportunity to reclaim it from Howes men.

this one is easy to make as we already have duncan animation during the fade(who we killed when we are in our dreams)..
so, controlling Duncan(being duncan) is absolutely no problem, it's just the plot....say, how about the Sophie's condition, Duncan's body being posessed and we killed it and reclaim the armor?
any ideas?

Agreed. It would be chance to get duncan armor which I think would be cool.
