I have 3 reasons to buy a xbox 360. But so far I have ZERO reasons to buy a PS3.

All the "best titles" for PS3 are just crap in comparison to mass effect 1&2. And will be even worse when compared to Mass Effect 3. So the only reason I can find to buy a console these days is the Mass Effect series.

Personally I don't care. My only complaint to all the PS3 fanboys out there is that there's no reason to complain about it when the probability of an ME game coming out on PS3 is just as likely as God of War 3 being released to the 360. It's not going to happen. Microsoft produces the ME series just like SONY produces the God of War series and as long as the status quo remains, that won't change.

My only thing against an ME game(one in the Shepard story line anyhow) going to the PS3 is that the PS3 players who don't have the two previous one might be right confused not having any knowledge from the first two games making a big difference in continuity. Sure there's the ME wiki page but that's not the same as playing the game, even if it makes BioWare more money.

This is a good question.  More people should ask it of themselves.  Why am I against (insert topic here)?

In the case of Mass Effect, I don't mind if it includes PS3 in its playable platforms.  The more the merrier I say.  If it opens the market up to more people that can only mean more money for EA/Bioware and that means more games.  Will it happen?  I doubt it.  At least, not anytime soon.  For it to make any sense, all three games would have to be available on PS3, and to do that, they would have to release them all simultaneously.  I could see them coming out with a collector's pack with all three included well after ME3 is out, and PS3 being one of the platforms.

From what I've heard and read, porting a game from 360 to PS3 and vice-versa is actually pretty easy.  It's once you start trying to port games to PC or Wii that you run into serious work.  PS3 and 360 are more similar than any two other platforms out there, making porting between them comparitively easy.

Honestly, I can only shake my head at some of the ridiculous biases out there.  There are people who play games on only ONE platform, not because it's practical, but because, "evrythng else sux, lol."  There are people who don't understand that sometimes certain platforms ARE better than others with specific games.  I personally own ME and ME2 on 360, and I hear all kinds of talk on these forums about how much better the PC version is, or people assume that the PC version is the only version people have.  As far as I can tell, the only thing the PC version is better at is being able to install mods, everything else is equal.  Some people don't have the money for a cutting edge gaming computer, some people like playing shooters on a console where shooting feels more natural (guilty), and some people are console snobs who find little reasons not to like games simply because they aren't available on their console of choice.

Personally, which platform I game on depends largely on what kind of game it is.  Strategy games are all PC for me, shooters are all 360, and RPGs can go either way.  I'd also like to remind people that Mass Effect was originally a 360 only game, the PC version didn't come out for months afterward.  Just my opinion.

PS 3 sucks so bad that Sony doesn't deserve to get Biowares goodies.  It would be a great insult to see Mass Effect on a PS 3, I wil not stand for it!

*sings, mostly in key*

"Step one, you make your console cost the most,
You beat your chest and proudly boast,
despite no good and exquisite games,
make a bunch of ridiculous claims,

Then ignore our need to play online,
don't make it fun like XBox Live,
Use Blu Ray which I don't need,
Now your getting your **** kicked by the Wii,

Said Halo 3 don't worry you,
Instead you offer Kill Zone 2,
But Kill ZOne 1, sucked before,
So what made you think we wanted more?

Sony you went wrong with your PS 3,
I'll just keep playing my 360,
hope this song has helped you understand,
Now you know how you killed your brand,

*takes a bow*

Assuming Microsoft no longer owns any rights to Mass Effect, I'd guess it'll appear on the PS3 as a trilogy a few months after ME3's release. To those worried that porting to PS3 would divert resources from making ME3, I would think Bioware would outsource that task, they used Demiurge Studios for the ME1 PC port didn't they?

Best post on the forum! You sir win a cookie! In all seriousness i will have ME3 no matter. I just think that it is crazy any time a title with as much following as ME has achieved isnt welcomed or produced on all platforms. In the end the only outcome if they make the game true to its orginal parts and dont screw it up is....

Bioware has a whole new platform to release exansions and downloadable content which in the end = more money for developing better games later.

I just hope my computer is still on par with what games will require when ME3 comes out. As it stands now i can run any game out on high setting with no issues. In 2 years(if that is how long it takes ME3 to come out) what is a top of the line machine now will likely be a mid-low end machine then with all the new chip sets and video cards and stuff that will be out then not to mention the possibility of 3D monitors and such(they are already releasing 3D lap tops and tvs so by then it will be the norm)..Will be a fun journey of waiting for more download content and constantly checking the web for updates and any info we can get until ME3 launches!

The PS3 Defense Force used the same battlecry when FFXIII turned out to suck. They said that Square Enix had to "dumb down the game" just so the X360 could handle it. As a result, the PS3 version suffered as well.

That Defense force thing is still around?  That was hilarious when it first appeared but got old quick since all they could do is recycle the same material over and over.  I still remember when people posted actual logical statements involving why people were not purchasing PS3's and all they could do was Say they suck ban the person then edit there comments later to make them look dumber then the people who ran the site.

i'm not against it as I own a PS3 aswell so its not really something for me to get annoyed about, what I am concerned about is that these forums which most of the time I enjoy browsing will just turn into a fanboy domain beyond the embarrassing. I dislike all fanboys, xbox, nintendo and sony for the simple fact they have no logic and are ignorant, with the sony fankids being the worst out of a bad lot speaking from experience with the petitions, the trolling of games for 360 which i'm trying to get interested in, the whole PS3 would make games like mass effect 100x better than the 360 version garbage, the whole Devil May Cry 4 and Final Fantasy XIII thing which to me I cringed.

I dont want these ****s who have ruined the likes of N4G (It was decent once you know), Neogaf etc ruining this place. This isnt a gripe at normal PS3 owners like me, who enjoy the games and talk sense, I welcome anyone like that but the fanboy morons can go and run as far as I'm concerned

I would prefer to play MA 1,2 and future 3 on PS3.

I was given MA2 for PC tried it out and loved it. However, I would not purchase any MA game on my own for PC. I want it for the console.

The only reason that ME seems to not be appearing on another console is because they may have an agreement with Microsoft. But saying that Mass Effect "SHOULD NOT" appear on PS3? Anyone who says that is a complete tool. If they say it "Won't" appear? Then that is fine, it makes sense.

Lol stupid PS3 fanboys

It's all about sales. If you want a certain game for a certain console, you know what they want you to do? BUY their console. Just like I want God of War 1 2 and 3 I got to buy a PS3. So stfu and don't call people morons or tools because they disagree with your opinion.

Why can't you all just put your petty console concerns aside and join with the pc master race?

Its painful at first, but once you've been inculcated...ahhh, the bliss. :)

Not gonna happen, and you can blame the xbox for that. Imagine the uproar if they'll have to swap disks 6 times.

Quick question: What is the deal with people not liking swaping disks?  I mean, Ive seen HUGE nagative feedback on disk swapping but cant really figure out why.  Is is simply because its inconvieniant or a "hassle"?  If you could get several hours more gameplay, would you really mind swapping a disk that takes maybe 20 secs (being generous) total?

Edit: LOL oops, I thought this thread was only on page 1 so that all I read :pinched:

I prefer console gaming as it has a solid base. With PC gaming you never know if the next game you want to play is going to cost you hundreds of pounds to update your hardwarde to play a £25-30 game.

Plus I hate using keyboards and the mouse to control games lol.

Thank you for failing beyond the descriptive ability of words.

How is that a fail? That's a fact. Who wants to pay such a massive amount to update your PC for the next lineup of games? The console lasts for 5-7 years without any upgrades. Who cares about the graphics? Are you guys still actually caring about graphics? I spent half of the day yesterday playing Final Fantasy VIII on PS 1. Seriously. Graphics... whatever. REAL GAMERS don't care what the graphics are like. They game because it's fun and immersive and all that. Graphics add to immersion, sure. But they don't make or break a game. Image IPB

It's fail because the guy significantly exaggerated the cost and need of GPU replacement.
That, and there's no connection whatsoever between what he said and what you said.

I really support ME on Play Station, tho I don't have one.

I don't see point in exclusives, and in discussion like xbox/PS3/PC is better.

We are all gammerz FFS! We schould be all angry that Heavy Rain is only on PS3, and RDR only on X360...

True I would never play a fighting or racing game on PC. Control scheme on keyboard feels vastly inferior to the good old controller in that case.

And before someone goes on with the "use a gamepad!" not all games support it and why should I sink more money into my PC just to use a controller when my console comes with one?

I wouldn't mind Mass Effect going to PS3. Why should I? As long as BioWare doesn't pull a stunt like console exclusive DLC, I'm fine.
