I am trying to dive into level layout. But i have heard bad things about lightmaps, so i am trying if this will be a hurdle for me. But apparently the problems are true.

Im pressing "render lightmaps" on a quick level. But theres only error messages. Like:

Traceback (most recent call)!ß
File "", line 24, in
ImportError: no module named win32com
job submission failed with a return code 1
failed to submit lightmap layout [level]

Can someone translate the error to me by chance?

if you are trying to build an exterior level you have to set an exportable area. done that?

Hm i think so yes, a red / blue line crossed the viewport when i tried that. But it dissappeared shortly after. Im not sure if it worked. I will try again.

PS ,i tried , and it would only continue when i enter a layout name. I just put a name that suits me? I did but lightmap still gives same error duh =(

if you installed the active version of python 2.5 then it's the right one. maybe a dev knows something about this strange happening... could you upload the lvl file?

VERY IMPORTANT: you have to install the 32bit version of active python 2.5.4.

first install this and then this.

now all should work. if it aint then i got no clue left...

I also had a render lightmap problem and downloaded and installed pywin32 (pywin32-214.win32-py2.5) from one of -Semper-'s links and am currently rendering the lightmaps. I think it worked...
It says
I: 20:27:10 - Successfully submitted lightmap job.
Yes! Thank you!
