So in playing with the Gibbed Save Editor, and coming across other comments concerning modding, There exist a few things.

One, a secret "dev" weapon.
SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_MiniGun
Normally, to swLooks like the Revenant, but acts like a mini gun, has a 10,000 round clip
fNormally, when you go to switch out weapons in the Gibbed Save Editor, you plug in a code.
Plugging in this specific code, gives you a weapon, that in appearance, resembles the Revenant Machine Gun, but in action, is very different.

It functions as a highly accurate, incredibly high rate-of-fire gatling gun, yes that's right, a mini gun.

Holding down the right trigger (xbox here) and you hear the whining of a mini gun, and a second later, bullets fly out of the gun, at rapid speed, with an increase in recoil, and a massive muzzle flash. The clip holds 10,000 rounds. yup, that's right, 10k
(I would take a video but this is on the XBOX, perhaps a PC user could do this, and frap it for us)

My question is this:
Do you think weapons like this should only be available to people with access to modding?

If you are adept at finding out other secrets, are there more weapons?
More hidden developer weapons?

Next topic, Hidden Difficulties...?

When I go to edit my Shepard's save, that is on Insanity, which as we know is the 'hardest' difficulty setting, I notice in the Editor, it lists the current diffulty only as "Level 5", with yet another level above.
Posted Image
I'm away from home at the moment so I can't test to see if "Level 6" is in fact a harder difficulty (Tonight I'll select "Level 6" and see what happens) but once again, same question here:

"Do you think Even Harder difficulties should not be hidden, but be allowed to access, even if that difficulty might drive some gamers to the brink of frustration?

Hmm, this is very cool stuff Jav. To answer both questions, I don't think items that are made for testing or for fun, even if they made it into the final box version of the game, are necessarily "for" anyone, people with modding access or not. I guess I take issue with the perception that *any* player would or should be able to access inaccessible content. That content isn't really for the customer to criticize or pass judgement on, as it was not included in the actual game.

Alternatively, the Hot Coffee mod was locked away on the GTA disc and Rockstar had to take responsibility for that, so far as to reprinting new discs without the hidden content.

I guess I feel that when you start modding or accessing hidden files, you are no longer looking at the final boxed product, even if it is included on the disc. What you are looking at is extraneous.

While it might be very cool like a minigun or hotcoffee, for whatever reason, it was kept out of the player's hands by design and cannot be judged as part of the game.

As for the difficulty numbers, I was under the impression that playing with NG+ boosted the difficulty. So playing on NG+ Insanity would be the highest difficulty, which if that is right, is available to everyone.

It'll be interesting to see if that is in fact a higher difficulty. It might also be a dev immunity mode....we know they had those when testing the game so it might have been left in.....just talking out of my behind here since I haven't tested it yet.....just speculating away at what it may be. I'll test it when I can.

Nope, it's not NG+ Insanity because that shepard file that I'm looking at IS an NG+ Insanity save file

As to your other comments, I do whole heartedly agree, that modded content isn't part of the shipped product and shouldn't be judged so, but all the same, I like a game that has secrets, :)

as of right now i'm having hilarious results on level 6 difficulty. apparently on lvl 6 difficulty you cannot damage enemies. i am still testing different variations but overload is not damaging shields at all, very funny to watch my team get mowed down by 3 enemies.

Whoa...

What about weapons? You can't do any damage at all?

If you have time scyphozoa, could you make little video demonstrating the Mini Gun in action with Fraps?

I don't think it is a mod's responsibility to bring knowledge like this to the public, but whatever. Stuff like this and near-infinite Cain break the game, allowing for an easy Insanity achievement and what not.

Would still like to see this in action, though.

I've been doing all my testing on Heretic station. I first played on regular insanity difficulty to see the shield bars on the first 3 rooms of enemies. I moved through these rooms and restarted. Modified difficulty to 6, saved, reloaded and played.

I have tried 8 times to get past the first room in the heretic station with 3 geth and they are all entirely impervious to damage. Overload will not damage shields. Gun fire (with and without armor-piercing ammo), incinerate and melee will not damage health. AI hacking will not hack unshielded geth.

There was no difference in the shield bars of the first 3 geth. The enemy AI seemed to be glitchy, as they had noticeable difficulty with pathing.

So for some reason there is a difficulty in the game where all the enemies are invincible.

It's just fun stuff to do.....modding is a choice....one that BioWare has pushed more and more players towards when they decided to implement scanning and minerals.....now we're just having fun with all the other things we can screw with.

Achievements -_-. You can get every achievement Fallout 3 has on the pc by just using the console. Achievements mean nothing.

As far as the Xbox 360 version is concerned, I don't think Microsoft would appreciate being able to basically cheat their way to an achievement.

Sure...be my guest. Have fun scanning and only being able to be pure paragon or pure renegade even when the responses are right out retarded in order to be able to save your entire team.

This way could get you banned yes. It's 'legal' if you can do it in the regular constraints of the game. That's just called laming or glitching.

But that's not an item exclusive to the 360. It concerns everyone who uses the SGE.

True, but MS only cares about the 360 version, because they aren't keen on cheaters of any kind on Xbox Live, especially Gamerscore cheaters.

ME2 is not an xbox live game. and they have no way to monitor little 45kb save files. If you don't like modding, then you don't like modding.

Just tried the MiniGun shortly. I also took a video via XFire, if the quality is good enough after encoding I´ll share it.

Unfortunately, the incredible recoil and the power-up time makes it nearly useless imo.

Edit: http://www.xfire.com/video/293367/ Here´s the video.
I failed badly at the start due to the unexpected recoil and my noobish assumption a minigun would work like in COD and kill everything in seconds^^

It did seem like it did a lot of damage for the 2 seconds you had your xhairs on a target.
