It did seem like it did a lot of damage for the 2 seconds you had your xhairs on a target.
Well that´s exactly the problem: The recoil is so hard that it´s really difficult to keep your crosshair on a target for longer.
However, I tried around some more and I found out that the recoil gets weaker the longer you fire, so it is great for long-range sniping - simply start shooting before the enemy is close enough to fire back and keep firing for like 6 seconds and you have an accuracy similar to the sniper rifles, but with much higher DPS.^^
So while it sucks for short-range combat it is actually the best sniper weapon I´ve seen so far^^.

And they never will. If you want custom hair, colors, whatever weapons you want for whatever class, extra bonus powers and much more then the only way to go is modding. All those things are just for fun and coolness but more serious things like the malfunctional morality system and the mineral scanning are down-right intolerable and I highly doubt they'll ever provide official DLC to fix them.....I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
Expecting BioWare to release most of that if not all of it as official DLC is foolish as are fears of being banned over this.

I'll wait until the Liara DLC is released, because I have the feeling that one will add some new powers for Shep and his allies. Probably Stasis for Shep, as Liara's Loyalty Power so to speak. If it adds no new powers, I might give my Barrier Vanguard Slam as an extra..
I doubt they'll add liara as a party member eve IF they do a DLC for her.....they may as well leave the shadow broker for ME3 since he/she/it is a major figure in the galaxy and likely a major ally of the reapers. Personally I doubt you'll see any DLC that gets even rmotely close to dealing with Liara for ME2.

Yes it appears you are right. I didn't know anything about the sound files and I just dug them up on google. They are a new discovery however, this information appears to be no more than two weeks old as far as I can tell.

I knew I though I've heard that startup sound before. The YMIR mech duh
Now why can't we have the same deadly accuracy as the mech? sigh

Best minigun in a game EVAR! I cant help but scream when I fire that thing, and intentionally toggle walk on, because its so much cooler.

I HIGHLY doubt Liara will be 'recruitable', especially after listening to the few hidden lines of dialog on the disc.
And Stasis wouldn't be such a great power unless it could affect protected targets, in which case it would be overpowered.
Pull functions as Lift and Stasis combined anyways

I do think it should be something that only people who are prepared to mod should have access to.
Both of these (weapons and difficulty) are potentially game breaking, and if everyone has access to these there might be a group of people that judge the game as being severely broken and spread the bad word out.
You know, like what happened with 'modded' versions of the original assassins creed that got bad reviews.

I don't remember. You'll have to search around, I haven't played with ME2 in awhile. Try the modding thread.

You can´t use them even with the ID because they have no model. Equipping them on you with Gibbed will cause you to have less weapons.
It might be possible to give them a model so you can use them, but I´m too noobish in modding to know how.
All I know is, you can´t use them without further modding - I tried yesterday after I took the video of the Mini Gun.

Mmhmm, you need to assign them an existing gun model in the ini, such as the widow or heavy pistol.

No it doesn't it really doesn't. From a distance your target is small and the recoil takes time to target, then there's the warm-up time before it starts firing and it doesn't do a great deal of damage per shot....you have to keep shooting a target for a few seconds before it dies on top of the warmup and adjusting to the recoil. With the widow I can often zoom right in on the target, adjust much faster and get a one shot kill that takes no time whatsoever....all of that before the enemies ever become aware I'm there.....this helps drop the strongest enemy before the firefight even starts and then taking down the rest is far easier. And I haven't even mentioned the sniper rifle's snipe time that infiltrators get which also slows down time reducing the damage you take during the much faster targeting period.
In the end the minigun is good for fun but in terms of power it has nothing on the Widow.
