Also of the rest Wrex, Mordin, Kaidan, Thane are dead in 100% of my ME3 imports (that is one). And Samara is bound to kill me by her code.

OP, I think if BioWare hires you, I'm screwed.

Ditch (in no particular order):

Thane - supposed to die in a few months. Although because he's a LI he'll probably stay.

Jack - she didn't really want to be in the crew in the first place. Although because she's a LI she'll probably stay.

Jacob - his personality traits might convince Shepard that the Reapers winning isn't such a bad thing. Although because he's a LI he'll probably stay.

Zaeed - He's DLC for Mass Effect 2 and not everyone would of dl'ed him. Therefore shouldn't be in ME3.

Kasumi - See above, but switch 'him' for 'her'

Morinth/Samara - They already have the token Asari biotic - Liara.

Wrex - They have the token Krogan - Grunt - who has more reason to be there than Wrex does (even though I prefer Wrex)

-- I would love to make this a poll or something but since in a poll you can only make 1 option, write you choices in the thread and I will make the count myself in each 20 voting posts and upload the percentages.

According to my game, almost everyone would be dumped initially for this reasons:
1) Ashley Williams - working for the Alliance, dumped me even after the romance
2) Kaidan Alenko - Dead.
3) Liara T'Soni - Shadow Broker deal. Could come back after it.
4) Tali'zorah
vas Normandy - Maybe an Admiral of the quarrian flotilla. But as I didn't get her exiled, she would be working with them anyway.
5) Garrus Vakarian
6) Wrex - busy on Tuchanka
7) Miranda Lawson
8) Jacob
Taylor
9) Mordin Solus - Back to his job as a doctor and researcher
10) Jack "Subject Zero" - Started to pursue revenge at Cerberus
11) Thane Krios - Dead.
12) Grunt - busy on Tuchanka getting to know and fighting for the Urdnot clan
13) Kasumi
Goto - No more deal with Cerberus. Got back to be a thief.
14) Legion
15) Morinth - Dead
16) Samara - Got back to be a Justicar.
17) Zaeed Massani - No more deal with Cerberus.

Although I would make at least Grunt and Samara recruitable. Shepard is Grunt's battlemaster and there would be no greater threat for a Justicar to take care than the reapers, even more now after Morinth's death.
Garrus, Jacob, Legion and Miranda would already be with Shep on the SR2 anyway.

-Garrus & Tali (because they just have to, would'nt be ME without them at this point).

-Grunt (I like Wrex a little better, but it makes more sense as a NPC rather than squaddie).

-Samara

-Zaeed & Kasumi (Dialogue wheel or not, they're better chars than most...)

-Mordin (because all squads need comic relief )

Well i want them ALL in ME3 i dont see why Bioware would want to pi** any fanbase off by not including there favourite carater, if you dont like them you can just get them killed, all of them except Liara can be. But if i must only pick seven, here is my list, too keep:

Tali (even though I don't want to admit it): Has to go to ready quarians

Zaeed (Especially if you didn't get Vito): lets face it, he has his money, he's out to kill YOU now.

Legion: Either killing bad Geth, or rallying all to fight the Reapers

Miranda/Jacob: just because I want others really, they can go gather the remaining pockets of Cerberus and try to rally them, against TIM!



In all honesty, there would be more, it would only be logical. But im thinking some things need to go halfway. Like Tali only being an admiral until she has the support for the war against reapers, and Thane's son, joining the crew to help shep and fill his father's shoes.

I'd honestly like all of my surviving squadmates to be back in ME3.

However, I'd be fine with BioWare allowing us to only keep a certain amount of our squadmates so long as we are able to select the squadmates. If this is the case perhaps you would select them from a list of surviving squadmates when you fire up ME3 for the first time.

The ones I want to have the most are Zaeed, Mordin, Garrus, Grunt, Miranda and Kasumi. I'd also like the Virmire survivor as I have some ME2 games in which my character stayed faithful.

The ones I wouldn't miss as much won't be back in some of my saves as they bravely gave their lives at the Collector base.

I highly doubt there will be a selection. It s acool idea, but I think certain squaddies need to be taken out for a story to be made around rallying people to fight the Reapers

Rather than a least favourite mix, but logically the ones who have a compelling reason not to stay:

Zaeed and Kasumi are both basically 'for hire'. They're not going to stick around if they're not getting paid. Especially if you destroy the collector base and renegade from TIM, since where is your funding going to come from?

Ashley/Kaiden, simply because one of the had to have died and the simplest solution is to put them in a minor or cameo role like ME2

Samara/Morinth, again one of them had to die. Also, Samara only signed up to help you on your suicide mission and Morinth would probably have the urge to go rape kill someone rather than stick around.

Wrex is the leader of the Krogan, so he's got more important things to do.  Or dead.

Thane, well he's only got a few months left.

I think it was the Shaman who mentioned that Grunt was too important to the Krogan to die on the suicide mission, and make sure he survives, so I'd imagine he'd be drawn back to Tuchanka. Then again, loyal Grunt seems pretty keen on Shepard as his battlemaster.

Legion is both. On one hand he's got his Shepard hard on, and on the other he's got Geth things to do.

Of the rest, Garrus is your buddy so he'll stay. Tali can be exiled from the flotilla, so she might have nowhere else to go. Even if she didn't get exiled, she's got the BFF thing with Shepard going on. Miranda is either still there to oversee the Normandy on behalf of TIM, or resigned from Cerberus with no where else to go. Liara and Mordin could go either way, depending on what happens between ME2 and ME3. Liara might still have her Shadow Broker thing to do, and Mordin needs to keep himself occupied with medical science. Jack sorta has nothing else going on for her, and neither does Jacob.

1) Ashley Williams (even though she's my Shep's LI)
2) Kaidan Alenko - LI's that don't do anything worth noting as better or at least as good
as current me2 characters.

8) Jacob Taylor - He keeps using his barrier at the wrong times. And other characters do
his job better. Only reason to keep him is if you're pro-human.

6) Wrex - Would keep, but he's better off running the horde we'll need than at my side since
Grunt is just as good.

15) Morinth
16) Samara - Would love keep either, but if Liara is just as good with biotics then
I'd rather not have the baggage around that they bring. Being that they
are such polar characters, their story is told and really have no room
for change or new stories.

5) Garrus Vakarian - He's essentially Sheppard, so I don't really need a second around.

Now, who to keep?

Tech:
4) Tali'zorah vas Normandy - She knows the ship
9) Mordin Solus - he's a genius
14) Legion - AI in a useful wrapper

Biotic:
3) Liara T'Soni - Asari biotic and possible LI
7) Miranda Lawson - Human biotic and possible LI
10) Jack "Subject Zero" - Unstable biotic for the fun of it, but needs more power and instabillity to really make her shine.

Specialists:
11) Thane Krios - Every team needs a cool headed sniper.
13) Kasumi Goto - Every team needs a stealth specialist.

Heavies:
12) Grunt - He's raw unadulterated hit you in the face power like a tank for when subtlety is useless.
17) Zaeed Massani - He's an uber-merc and with it all his that his experience should bring to the table.

I would put Kasumi on there but I don't have her... honestly I don't see why they would bring the DLC characters back as main squad mates as not everyone has them or will bother to get them. Additionally, they aren't full characters, bonus mission and no dialog wheel make them kinda meh to me. I also prefer quality over quantity, I think dialog was spread way to thin... thus my discarding of Jack... I though we could have a good friendship but suddenly I'm just pissing around...

No, your wrong. Samara and Morinth need to be together because you HAVE to pick one or the other, same with the Virmire Suviour.

Miranda and Jacob arn't meant to be, that was supposed to be a M & J same with wrex and grunt, sorry

2. Morinth - Hate her, and her mother killed her
3. Wrex - Love him, but he's busy on Tuchanka
4. Tali - Adore her, but she's with the Migrant Fleet
5. Zaeed - Thought he was pretty damn cool, but I can't afford to keep him on the squad
6. Thane - Love him, but by the time ME3 comes around, I can't imagine he'll be the epitome of health
7. Hrk.... can't... decide... Garrus - Because my boy can handle the big leagues with the Spectres now

Actually, if past squadmates returned in a NPC mode for ME3, I could cut out a lot more than 7. For me it's not who to ditch that's the issue, but who I'd bother to keep. I'm not adverse to introducing even more potential squadmates.

ETA: Looking at the initial results, damn, Jacob just cannot catch a break around here.

Honestly, I think Tali is dead weight at this point. In the first game the Geth played a big role, so a Quarian made sense. Tali didn't contribute anything to Mass Effect 2. Garrus is still relevant in terms of his goals. Tali needs to go home and get her people ready to be allies with the Geth.

Dumping: Tali, Kaidan, Jacob, Zaeed, Grunt, Kasumi, and Samara.
