If anyone has a similar situation with this error I thought I would post this. I used a store bought DVD to install DA but usied impulse digital disto for the exp. However after the exp installed and I tried to play the game or load a save I got 'campaign.cig missing' error. Stardock directed me to EA support as they said they simply get the installer from EA and thus tech support rests with them. Fair enough.
I got into a live chat with EA support. Long story short he tells me
win7 nor 64bit are officially supported with DA. Which to me makes 0
sense. Because you know... only a handful of people use win7 or/and
64bit... Well done and great foresight Bioware/EA. Becasue this whole win7/64bit do-dad is just a fad.. *sarcasm*
None the less this is what I had to do...
uninstall DA and the exp fully. Reinstall DA fresh from the DVD. Install
the 1.03 patch. Install the exp pack. Now everything works fine. If
this pops up again with someone seems this is the only solution. It has
been awhile since I played DA I -think- the last patch I installed was
1.0.1a so perhaps installing the exp over that patch caused the issue.
None the less a clean wipe and fresh install with the latest patch fixed
the issue.
I know the exp is supposed to install the 1.03 patch by default unsure why it didnt work on the first try.
If anyone else ends up in the same boat do the above and it -should- fix the issue.
