Excluding the body she just seems, in my opinion, a bit more evolved compared to Data.

In terms of sheer intelligence, yes--information is available to her in seconds.

Data was made to be like an actual human. He even had... 'relations' with Tasha.

I see EDI and Joker's relationship as one that started off as mutual animosity that grew into grudging respect, and then into a kind of genuine care and affection that can only come from having lived through near-death situations together. Would I call it romantic love? No, because I'm sure that Joker (and possibly EDI) understand that it wouldn't work on a logical level. It might not stop them from occasionally wishing it were otherwise though.

Although... It WOULD be rather ironic/entertaining to see a fanfic where a jealous EDI tries to kill Shepard after she hits on Joker.

Ha. We discuss that all the time on the Joker fan forum. 'What if EDi gets jealous while Shepard's romancing Joker?"
We thought she might try to turn off life support and you'd have 5 minutes to turn it back on.

Thing is Kali, fanfiction has paired almost every squad mate with horrible and nonsensical partners. That's the way fanfiction is - it's not bound by logic or taste.

I'd deny it, but you're right.
Sometimes I'm insanely grateful that the book I write fanfiction for isn't popular enough to warrant this much crazy.

in me3, edi gets downloaded into an inactive geth and becomes a new ( and final ) squadmate.
if you are a male shep, she's also a LI option.  and if you flirt with her, you loose joker's loyalty.

but joker, with all his kindness, won't go down just like that. he will take revenge on his backstabbing commander.

The only thing that will kill the "Joker EDI" idea is if EDI is voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan. Just imagine his saying "I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees" or "What Jeff and I are experiencing is not human courtship..."

but seriously, is it really that far fetched that someone can actually start a support  thread like "EDI as a squadmate in ME3" ?

why geth ? well, they have humanoid form and hardware obviously capable of holding a conscious ( i'm not sure if it's the right word )

Well... as long as she doesn't interfere with a romance between my Shepard and Joker, that would actually be pretty awesome.

I'd prefer they make her an android body though. They  seem to have the technology to do that.
If she was put in a Geth body, I'd accidently shoot her. Probably every time. I don't think I could register "Hey, EDI!" I would be more "asdf; more Geth. KILL IT."

If you want a Joker romance, a good idea is to make and encourage the Joker thread to be livelier. BW already has 9 romances, that's a lot, and the Joker romance would be at a distinct disadvantage if they ever do it because they'll only have one game for it. If you make the thread loud and large enough you might just get it. I wouldn't get my hopes up, but that's the best shot for it I think.

Well to be fair, there may be 9 romances, but all of them except Liara, may be dead.  And whatever gender she is, she's not as manly as Joker
