What's up with the supposed 'EDI/Joker' love?

Actually, this isn't really true.Skilled Seeker wrote...
Not to mention romancing Joker would break his bones. Do you want to break Joker's bones?! EDI is probably the best romance for him after all. He can get inside her no problem which would be far more difficult with Shepard.
I did some research, and I found that this is actually baseless.
People with OI (osteogenesis imperfecta)--the same disease Joker has--can be... er, intimate, without any harm at all.
I have a thread for this, if you're interested. http://social.biowar...5/index/2489436

Just as it most often is, people are saying stuff out of humor.

But, by the very laws of the ME universe (those being that Shep has rescued every LI that I outlined in the other thread) Joker is fated - no destined! - to be a romance option and we shall be vindicated for our long suffering.
It's what I tell myself anyway.

I actually talked to someone with OI, and they gave me examples of what could happen.

Shepard needs a friend, everyone else wants to get in her knickers
Joker loves his ship so much he was willing to die in the original normandy and now his ship has a voice so he can connect to it on an emotional level sort of like the ultimate fantasy for him so there is no way Shepard could compete with that.
the brittle bones might not prevent him from having sex but Shepard needs a strong man that will make her feel like a woman not a nursemaid. and I bet she likes it rough.
Joker is the friendly brother type character, you might like him and want to date him but I don't think it would be right for Shepard. A better idea would be a new game in the ME universe where Joker returns as a romance option but not in Shepards story.

It really depends on the way you play. My Shepard would be perfectly ecstatic with Joker.scrappydoo555 wrote...
I doubt there will be a romance option for Joker for a few reasons:

His ship has a voice, sure, but there's only so much you can talk about with a ship.
A romance option in a new game? ...As long as I get to be the non-Shepard character that romances him.

...Have I told you you're completely awesome?
That is so true! It makes him all the more compelling, and the most interesting of all the characters.
Thank you for saying that!

(Nivenus approves + 15)
I also think the comment about Shepard needing a "strong man" is vaguely sexist.

Whoah. That's just ... stop reading Harlequin romances and getting your female personality types from porn movies, that's all I ask. Any woman that depends on any external influence to feel like a woman - especially a "strong man" - has serious issues (not to mention being slightly delusional about what good sex actually entails), and shouldn't be in command of a ship. Also, just because Shepard has backbone doesn't automatically make her a top or interested in rough sex. It takes a little bit more than that to make a sexual deviant.

Definitely. Wish I could say more, but you summed it up right there. ^^Collider wrote...
Joker is my bro. I have to give him props  Even with his disability he's like the greatest pilot ever. He never let his disability stop him from achieving his dreams and being the best. That's really admirable.
