Yeah, Bioware somehow definitely stumbled onto some kind of magic formula with Alistair and Zevran for the ladies. They aimed for it with Carth and Kaiden. Results-wise it is the difference between

Who knows when they'll hit that sweet spot again?

*Cackle* and my mind goes straight to the gutter with the second picture. Perhaps thats why I love Zevran so much?

I'd take Carth & Kaidan as LIs over Alistair & Zevran any day.   The latter two are great characters, don't get me wrong, but cute, awkward virgins and bad boys just don't do it for me anymore.

Different strokes and all that...  Posted Image

And if there's going to be DLC for Awakening, I'd rather it center around the new characters since we didn't get to talk to them much in the first place.

What worries me is what happens if you've beaten Awakening already? A half hour dlc just for the party member I romanced? I'd lie if I said I wasn't excited about it, at this point all that's keeping me going gaming-wise is the Halo:Reach beta that comes out next week because SOMEONE (I'm looking at you Bioware) don't want to release any details about anything. But I'm a bit skeptical for no apparent reason. Well, we'll just have to see.

If they did attach it to Awakenings, they better let me keep my new gear. That's all I'm saying.

Definatly agree with you there, different strokes. See, I dont feel Zev is the 'bad boy' he wants to let on to be..break up with him after he loves you and you'll see, thats just my take on things anyways......Different Strokes!

I also agree to a point, I would also like to be able to interact more with the new characters in Awakenings, but the one thing keeping me away from that game is the fact that I end up missing the old crew to much and just lose interest, but again that is just me.

Who knows how they plan on handling this, if it is even fact. I mean I assume sense her website does state that she is doing the VO for Lel that says something, but in what context is she going to return, we can only guess. I myself am hoping for a reunion of the old crew!

I'm not counting on anything more than a couple of throwaway lines during a DLC like Soldier's Peak. If we get more, great. awesome, in fact, but I am not gonna sit here getting my hopes up.

The worst part in Awakening was the weak end. That really needs to be adressed. What I really need, after the abrupt end of Awakening, is a DLC which is just centred on lots sentimentality and good byes. A way to say good bye to your character in a proper way and then be prepared to move on to a new character in DA2.

But they have already taken your gear! My poor Vigillance, although I do like fantisizing about how the sword grows in power in order to match the PC in power and returns to it's "true" master

That sounds like a set-up for the next expansion pack.

If Leliana is recruitable through DLC that would be fantastic. I may just replay origins until we get confirmation :)

Well, in hopes that they will maybe give a little hint or something I did email them when I first read the post, I am still waiting for a reply...not that they will say anything of course. I think at this point the cats out of the bag, at the very least just a confirmation would be cool...Im sure they wont say how they intend to impliment it...Unless we get lucky!

Of course when I get said email, if its anything worth while of posting..I will.

WOW WOW! Hold your horses there slick. New character? In DA2? WTF???? **** that ****!!! The Morrigan story, even as a side quest, needs a whole game devoted to it. Just solving the whole thing in a DLC (even an expansion) wouldn't do it justice. New character? What do you hate your current Grey Warden THAT much? Time skips in a DA game are all fine and dandy as long as the next game is based on your Grey Warden from Origins. Jezz people, looking too far ahead into the future. Live in the present!

From your lips (or..in this case keyboard i suppose) to bioware's ears (or..em monitors?)

Since Leliana is a Chantry lay sister and Lothering isn't destroyed for a few weeks after you leave (and plot-wise you wouldn't come back) there's every chance she was evacuated. Sten, on the other hand, would be dead without you.

Up until the point where Sten stops angsting and punches his way through the iron bars.

Qunari honor does not dictate that he die for murdering a dozen farmers and loosing his sword. It dictates that he kick some arse, Darkspawn arse that is.

Of course that could be wishful thinking . . .

LOL

Well, for what it's worth, I don't know about Lelianna, because I've always recruited her, but I do know that if you leave Sten in his cage, he does indeed Die when Lothering is destroyed.    His codex entry  says so.

There might be a bit of a conundrum for those play-throughs where players chose to defile the Ashes and be forced to kill Leliana (I've never done this myself). I suspect that Leliana will only be a cameo appearance to give out a side-quest; I doubt she'll be recruitable - though I could hope.

Nothing strange here.

Oghren also comes back in Awakening if you killed him in Origins and seems to be damn happy to see you...

Since when does the codex have any idea what's going on? I mean, seriously. Redcliffe?

That just makes Awakening even more disappointing and not worth my money. If only the whole group could have journeyed onway, not these one minute appearances that leave one so disappointed.

Agreed. nothing like a Posted Image right at the beginning of the game when you realize all of the old crew are gone. Last thing my warden knew - Her and Zevran discussing their travel plans, he loved her and she him, his claims were to go where she went, and she said she wasnt going anywhere without him. She decided not to remain with the wardens and to go off traveling, just for him. He then tells her to go out and see the crowed and that he would be there to 'protect' her incase of any funny buisness......she walks out the door, and BAM! Shes on some road with some unknown chick fighting darkspawn, no Zevran in sight, no nothing as to where he even is....erm...yeah. Who knows what happened to Alistair, I never made him King but he was still a Warden, why wouldnt he be there...Then you get all these new Characters and you cant really get to know them, cant talk to them, no romances. BLAH. Why make it an addition to Origins at that point and not make it a SMALL stand alone game, with the option to import characters. *Flails*

If this whole Leliana is even true, realism says, it will be some cheesy 5 second cutscene. Im trying to keep my hopes up that if it is even true they will finally be giving us all them options back..unfortunatly my pessimism gets in the way and following the tracks of Awakenings...I have to say, 5 second cut scene....and even then its a ..if its even true, though I am not sure why it would be up on her website otherwise, but until BIO confirms or denys it cant really say for sure...*shrug*

I am not against spending 5 dollars here or there for the DLC to get back those options, though it would be nice if it was a one time deal instead of split up, but I understand they are a company and want to make money also and I dont mind the small amount, if it really does offer the options I want. It would be rather upsetting to buy it for a 5 second cheesy cutscene appearence though..as I dont play Awakenings just because of the options I miss.

We will see!
