Hi,

It seems from various posts on the xbox tech support that the only way to get these achievements on the xbox is to kill 1000 darkspawn yourself in one playthrough (yay another new bug with 1.03)

Anyway, I'm not a power player I play on casual or normal and find normal challenging and casual fun for blasting through. I want to solo as much as possible the areas in the game with darkspawn, I'll be doing it on casual (as I said I'm not a power player and really don't need criticising in this thread that I'm lame for doing it on easy, I just would like some advice please :) ) and wanted to know what class would be best for doing this.

Many thanks.

I don't know if that's entirely true about it being main character kills, but you might be right - I was on playthrough 3 and I still had not unlocked Blight Queller and my Darkspawn total over 3 plays was easily over 2000.

What I did was loaded up my old mage and before the final battle I put it on casual and took only Wynn with me strictly as a healer and I basically made sure my main character killed every single darkspawn himself right upto the Archdemon.

The Achievement unlocked on the rooftop but I don't know for sure if this is because it was only me doing the killing or a glitch. The kills total was at about 1020 when it unlocked.

My second game was as a female, human noble, rogue. I wanted her to be a dual wield, cunning rogue, so I made her an Assassin, Bard. She had full dual wield, master stealth, and the only rogue skill missing, was feign death. I saw no need for it. Whenever she drew too much aggro I would cast stealth, and fade away.

By the end of the game both cunning and dexterity were in the mid to late 60's, She hit hard and she hit fast. With the Assassin skills combined with lethality, momentum, song of courage, and a whole lot of stealthy backstabbing; my little rogue was on a killing spree.

She was UNSTOPPABLE...Her finale tally was 1406 kills, and her hit rate was 97%.

If the mages had had haste, I wouldn't have needed momentum.

"She would have committed her killing spree on speed."

Easiest way is having a mage

whenever you see lots of darkspawns cast the spell combo Storm of the century(Spell Might+Blizzard+Tempest)

all darkspawn would be like dead in 10 seconds

these achievements are supposed to be available though multiple playthroughs...that's how the achievements are described in the Official Guide and elsewhere.

In my case, i finally got Master Warden while playing Awakening....(also got Heavy Hitter there).

Blight Queller, however, has not yet "popped" despite my having more than 2,000 kills in my various playthrough stats.

So there is still some mystery about these particular achievements.

inuksuit - yes I know it's meant to be like that but it doesn't seem to be. On the xbox forums there's a post about it where a guy finally managed to get the achievements by basically making sure he did all the kills on one playthrough and it popped at just around 1000 on that playthrough. It seems since 1.03 it's become bugged on consoles and doesn't go across playthroughs and only counts your character's kills.
My warden is on 1300 kills in awakenings and still hasn't got master warden which is 500 kills.

Well, I toyed around a lot when I initially got the game. I started with a human noble, played up until Lothering and then the first "mission" (Mage Tower), then chose to start a new origin. I did this like 4 (maybe more) times until I decided I wanted to go with the Dalish elf, and I believe I got the blight-queller achievement not long after leaving Lothering on that playthrough.

So yes, I definitely got it through multiple characters. :b

yes so did I on a previous playthrough on my PS3, I had no problems and on another profile it worked fine before 1.03. But it seems that the PS3 has the same problem now and I think patch 1.03 caused this problem and that it is now bugged. Previously it unlocked fine. I created a new xbox live profile so had to start my game and achievements again and the first one, 100 kills still seems to unlock fine. the problem seems to be master warden and blight queller and seems to be since patch 1.03.

Hello community, I have some great news for you all! I am like many of you trying to get my platinum trophy and screwed over by the Master Warden and Blight-Queller trophies. After many trials and errors and a heaping helping of research I have made a discovery! The trophy is not bugged at all, it is just not properly worded!

The darkspawn counter that shows the number killed in your heroic accomplishments counts kills made by all characters, whereas the counter for the trophy counts ONLY kills made by your player-created character WHILE being controlled by you.

So for instance if your character makes a kill while you are controlling Alistair that will not count towards the trophy, but will count towards the Heroic Accomplishments.

The easiest way to get the trophy is to get to the Final Battle, and after the first battle area when you talk to Riordan to choose your party, choose to take ONLY yourself into battle.

1.) Immediately travel to the Alienage
2.) Tell the elves to leave
3.) Turn the difficulty to Casual
4.) Save
5.) Clear out all darkspawn
6.) Travel to Palace District
7.) Defeat short battle with party members left behind
8.) Clear out all darkspawn in Palace District
9.) Reload at Alienage
10.) Rinse and repeat!

~Note~ If you die fighting darkspawn, it is not a big deal, the counter WILL count the kills ou made before you died.

I have confirmed this myself (On PS3 only, but I am relatively sure it will work the same on Xbox), please pass it along!
