I have been having a re-occurring issue with areas. When I make a change in an area it doesn't work sometimes. I took out a waypoint and put in a new one. Then exported and the old waypoint is where my character keeps landing. I have done this several times, checking things out and exporting and still no change. Any ideas? I can make other changes in my module and they work fine just area transitions don't seem to work.

Are these areas in the main campaign, or in a custom campaign? Are you testing from a save game, or a new game? If the player has been to an area before, the area data is saved into the save game and cannot be altered with the toolset except by using scripts to spawn the changes in, rather than placing them in the area editor.

I think I identified the problem DavidSims. I had saved a game into one of my custom areas at the beginning of my module, mainly to save time when loading to see how my changes were looking. So instead, I tried entering my module from a regular game save and noticed my pin was gone. So I re-saved the map with wide_open_world and my pin re-appeared (as per the tutorials on maps) and my changes to waypoints were now on the areas too.
So, if you are saving to your custom module and make changes to the areas you will have the same problem I did. Instead, save to a close area to your module pin that already exists (in my case, the Dalish camp) and then goto the world map to move to your mod pin site.

hmm Im a little lost..I tried to use the camp template to create a new spot , the pin stayed gray even though i called it active and it put me thru a later camp sequence rather than being the camp layout with new stuff around (my added stuff wasnt there) i dunno... but i did manage to drop a chest on a map i hadnt been to yet with some stuff in it.. i was happy as a cop in a duey pyle about that.. thanks for the tips!
