Eh, I had this exact trouble. I was working on a dwarf commoner female playthrough and when Alistair would flirt with her it just looked ridiculous. She seemed even shorter in the conversation cutscenes than she did in the gameplay screen - like she barely came past his waist. I'm sure people can insert clever and kinky joke, but I just couldn't go through with it.
who would you romance as a dwarf?

My dwarves had no time for such nonsense. They were pretty much all business. My female commoner dwarf had no love for Alistair, Zevron or Leliana. She did what she had to do to end the blight and that was that. And my noble, though she was more diplomatic with everyone and therefore on friend basis was only interested in beating the crap out of her good for nothing brother.
