Renegade or paragon, what's your favorite?

I think the problem with this is that there can be many different layers to a renegade: rougish because screwing with people is fun, smarmy because people have stuff you want, and downright ruthless because you're secretly a reaper. I guess the current system works, in allowing you to select how good/evil you want to be, I just wish that some of the medium evil choices weren't locked out for me half the time XD.

I find myself playing through multiple times just to try out the different classes and consequently making a few different changes. I can never bring myself to go full on renegade, though, because in some situations, Shepherd comes off as a jerk more so than the guy who gets things done. i.e. do I chew out my squadmates because I have a big stick up my ass or have a normal conversation? Some renegade choices are interesting, like during Zaeed's and Thane's loyalty missions, but those tend to be far and few between. So I end up gravitating towards paragade.

I don't like undermining myself. Paragon.

Especially in conversations with companions I often go with the middle option and sometimes (but quite rarely) the paragon option.
So I guess you can say im a Paragade with emphasis on renegade.

I've done 3 pure paragon playthroughs, 1 pure renegade playthrough and 1 mostly renegade, but 'nice' to my crew playthrough.

Ah yes, "Renegon." We have dismissed this claim.

Saving the galaxy has it's perks, like hot blue alien chicks.

I've done both full renegade and full paragon depending on my Shepard's background.
Plus when importing to ME2 choices made in ME make you most likely go that same path in ME2.
I mean you can be a total *** in ME1 and make a lot of renegade choices and import into ME2 and becoming a God Saint aka paragon. Or the other way around!
Plus some choices seem more real than other ones!
At most i try to go like 50/50 or close balance of renegade and paragon.

For example in ME1's Bring Down the Sky the paragon choice is to save the hostages. My Shepard is on a mission to save the galaxy. Balak and his crew already killed a lot of people on the asteroid and were intent on destroying Terra Nova. There is no way my Shepard would leave him free to repeat these actions on another colony. I'm sorry Kate Bowman, you were a very brave woman but my Shepard isn't going to take the chance of saving three hostages today and finding out that Balak destroyed a colony tomorrow. On my pure paragon playthrough I did let him go to save the hostages but on every other playthrough he's toast.
Likewise, on my full renegade playthrough I ignored the gas grenades on Feros and told my squad to return fire on anything hostile. I suppose I could make an argument that Shepard wasn't taking chances but he could have tried the gas grenades first. If the non-lethal grenades weren't working then they could switch back. It really didn't feel right to just kill all the colonists. That was the only time I didn't save the colony at Feros.
So I do like a mix of both. In ME2 I do most of the Renegade interrupts, such as electrocuting Cathka, shooting the tank under the Krogan, as they seem to make sense for battle. The Paragon ones depend on my character at the time. I usually always stop that kid from signing up with the mercs in Omega. Sometimes I stop Miranda, Garrus and Mordin from shooting anyone in their loyalty missions and other times I figure it's their decision.
On my last playthrough I didn't do the Paragon interrupt to distract Kolyat and chose to shoot Kolyat in the arm. Shepard says something like "Don't pull a gun on someone unless you're prepared to inflict that kind of pain." I actually kind of liked that response as it's showing Kolyat this isn't a game.
