Do kills made in awakening etc count?
Do kills made in DLC count towards the blight queller achievement?

No, This is what worked for me on xbox all dlc and all patches as of 10-28-2010. I did a solo human noble 2h warrior templar, berserker. I killed every freaking dark spawn that crossed my path and had 654 kills going in to the final battle. So I did the alienage run. When you do the alienage run you have two saved files one right after you talk to the city elfs and receive the quest make sure you tell them to run. Once you do this I proceeded to the gates and killed killed killed complete the quest do not do not leave the alienage go back to elves and take your gift for completing the quest save to your other save. Then reload just before the battle rinse and repeat. I did this 8 times at about 40-60 dark spawn each time. I can be a little tedious but if you want them you may have to do some grinding...
