She's a hot, red-headed, confused, bi-sexual.

What is wrong with YOU?

note: I'm not a fan.

There are all kinds of reasons I could give, but I'm not going to, because it won't matter.

I think she's amazing though.

To you, perhaps. I personally do not see the appeal of Alistair. He's immature, irrational, and he'll jump down your throat to cover up his own insecurities. (Looking at you, Redcliffe). Oh, and how he throws leadership on you because he doesn't even want to try.

To each their own. Just like you'll never get along with everyone in real life, you'll never get along with everyone in a character-driven game.

Her voice is so velvety and her accent is too cute.

Plus she's absolutely adorable, and strives to actively be a good person.  What's not to like?

Leliana: "Thank the maker!"
Warden: "No. Thank ME. I'm the one that did it."

Yeah, everyone's tendency to thank the Maker they believe abandoned them and isn't payng attention whenever you do anything is REALLY annoying. And so is Leliana's racism. Honestly, she NEVER realized she treats elves differently than humans or thought of them differently until you point it out? Talk about a severe lack of introspection which she CLAIMED to have spent the last two years doing.

I'm not a Leliana fan, but when you really think about it.....she's not immature because she is immature, you know. She was at one point pretending to be squee happy flowers shoes, and at another point the pretension just sort of became her.

That's the part that makes her more interesting to me. Shes does have depth, she's just not obvious about it. (Shery Chee's character tend to be this way, I've noticed. They're usually....not quite what they look like, and in a different way from Gaider's.)

Once you realize that she's actually quite flawed and not Miss Happy
Rainbows, she's a lot better imo. The batsh*t insane part could've been
better, though.

She is encouraging as a rule; not demoralizing like a certain Swamp Witch that shall remain nameless. And Lilliana has the the insight and gumption to be able to call Sten "a Softie" to his face. Plus I can always use someone else in the party with Deft Hands....

Wait! I meant the talent! I mean the game Talent! REALLY!

I personally couldn't stand Leliana at all until I saw the Sacred Ashes trailer. She looks amazing in it and she comes across as a total badass. So I found a mod that makes her look like the trailer, and now I love her.

I played through with a "good" character, that encouraged her religious beliefs and helped her through her personal issues. Next time I intend to take her down the other path and see how she behaves. I was really impressed when she encounters the Guardian at the gauntlet and he points out that her belief in a Maker that has a personal interest in her life was just a way for her to stand out from the crowd.

Leliana is a very flawed person, which is why she is interesting. Her immature dependency on people she thinks love her, her attempts to hide from her past crimes, her need for someone to love her (hence the vision of the Maker thing, which imo was born out of a subconscious need). And her general sweetness that is hiding a femme fatal underneath. I personally love Leliana.

All that, plus her looks and her accent of course.

That avatar is a bald Human woman. Therefore, she is evil.

I also think he is saying that is HIS character.

What he said! In all fairness though on my very first plauthrough where I do decisions based on my personal preference as opposite to because I am following a specific path I couldnt stand her. Her accent grated on my nerves and the only character I found more annoying was Aemon's wife (which is why i punched her and slit her son's throat).
But once you get to know her background she becomes very appealing (the accent didnt get any less grating mind you), and at least she rather guiless (which is less than you can say about morrigan or zhevran)

Guileless? She lies to you about first being a bard and then why she left Orlais. That sounds like some serious guile to me.

One word: Schmooples.

If it wasn't for Leliana, I would not have a big squeaking nug to greet me in camp.

I think it depends on the person. My mage PC is basically ambivalent about her- friendly, but at arm's length. But my Amell is also a bit of a hell raiser and not into the whole proper, pretty thing.

My Dalish elf actually really liked her at first, until she opened her mouth and started spewing that crap about elves. I've rolled elvish mages who are a lot more laid back about the human/elf thing, since she comes from a completely different society, but my Dalish girl pretty much lost her crush on Leliana on that. :/

Everyone has things that attract their attention, though. It's perfectly legit to adore the woman.

All this, and her quirky humor... and again, that hawt voice. One of her giggles can turn silverite to butter.

You hardly go and tell a person you've met a few hours ago about how you were betrayed, tortured and had to run for you life :P. Think of Morrigan in comparison, despite everything being said and done "i get the child and I walk, and you do not follow. Ever" has a pretty omnious sound to me

considering her background, even the ingenuous front is her playing you. "ooh i'm a happy little travelling minstrel from Orlais. i have a cute accent and believe in a Maker who cares.  tra-la-la. you should, like, totally love me."
Leliana would have been FAR more interesting had the insanity of believing in visions from The Maker been played up, rather than played down.
the comparison between Leliana and Morrigan is not particularly fair. Lets actually compare the two of them. Leliana grew up surrounded by sumptuous wealth, travelling as a spy and assassin throughout Orlais, she learned to completely manipulate everyone around her (except perhaps for Marjolaine), she lies, betrays, steals (of course she does, look at her lock-pick ability), she a deceptive backstabber.
now lets look a Morrigan. Grew up in the Wilds, with only Flemeth, a sorceress of legend as regular company. She learned magic, she learned survival, she did not learn social graces. she is blunt, she is up front about her opinions, she is not a faux goody-goody, in fact she would be perhaps the most up-front and honest of your female companions (even Wynne has secrets). Morrigan may be a manipulatice beyotch, but she never once hides that fact, she may lie to you, but you are given reason to think that she may Be lying to you. Leliana is ALL lies, but tries to hide it.
oh and the accent... sheesh... it makes me want to strangle her... i'd prefer to hear Arlessa Isolde screeching "Teeaagannn" for hours than hear Leliana's voice.

How is Leliana "all lies"? She only hides the fact that she was a bard, and eventually tells you. That seems quite reasonable to me. Morrigan on the other hand lies about her real purpose until the very end. Hell, she even admits that she's a master of deception.

I'm also curious to know what people actually mean by "immature". To me it sounds like what one person considers 'mature' is immature to another, and viceversa.
