I dumped Leliana for Morrigan. Later on, Leliana spoke to me and remarked how lovely Morrigan is and I said something to the effect, "you're trying to make me feel better (about dumping you)". She replied, "am I that transparent?"



Somehow, her response made me feel regretful that I did dump her . . . maybe I'll get back to her again when Morrigan forces me to dump her. I really do like to have my fruit and eat it too! Forbidden fruit that is . . .

Sure there is. Just don't permanently turn off their romance and after you do their side-quests there's an dialogue option to get with them.

A male PC can turn Leli's romance on at post-coronation with the line "Do I get the girl?"  It's a particularly cruel line for someone who's romanced Morrigan.

Didn't really care for her for a long time until she started opening up more to me and I could see the fragility in her character. I can't remember the specifics but it seemed like she pursued the Chantry to fit in some place and forget her past. I remember intially thinking 'Oh the Maker talks to you? Heeeere we go....' but by the end, I appreciated her and ended up sleeping with her. It was the only way to unlock massive cunning

She doesn't need to ninja-love me, as I romance her each and every playthrough, even if I decide at the character generation, that this time for sure I will give Zev or Ali a shot. But those poor guys get dumped all the time ...
I do also support the crowd, that thinks she's got a quite complex character. From all the companions she questions hereself and her actions most and you can talk with her about her morales. She doesn't believe she's the only one right person in the world. She listens to others and thinks about what was said.
From all the companions I would enjoy her most to be around me in real life. I'd like to discuss her believe in the maker as well as the role of the chantry. I think this could be very interesting discussion as she is not dogmatic at all and I'm sure she would listen to my point of view.
The more you learn about her past the more "creeping" she may get - but then I believe she genuinly wants to keep the past as far behind her as she can. she struggles with that and she is not to proud to ask for help and not to stupid to refuse help offered to her.
And then she's a very valuable companion, and one you can rely on.

Oh come on...*Leliana lies to you*....Has nobody in your life ever lied to you? But i can see why she did even if you can't. She was trying to forget her past life. That was all. So she told a little porky. Big deal.
She is an adorable, sweet girl. Leliana is the only character i have ever cared about (and loved) in any  game i have played. I hope we go shopping together one day.

As far as I know, nobody in my life has ever lied to me about being a trained killer. But yes, the other companions (especially the LI) lie as well.

It's a lie of omission at most, I don't think anything she says is untrue, she just doesn't mention the bit where she used to kill people. Since she left Orlais to escape her old life I doubt it's something she'd include in her introduction.

As for why anyone would like her; good taste, I suppose.

She doesn't lie about being a bard, she lies about why she came to Ferelden.

Actually, I know there is a way to get back Lelianna after dumping her once.  However, you would have had to dump her BEFORE doing her personal quest. 

There is dialogue with her after killing Marjolaine where you are given the response option something like "I hope I can be as special to you as she (Marjolaine) was" and that response will re-engage the romance with Lelianna provided your PC is not involved with anyone else.

I really do like Leli, but I don't care for the ninjalove bug. lol. but I think( at least in my game) I know how to shut off the romance with a female character. it's during the "haircut" talk there is an option that you can tell her that you think she's getting the wrong idea about you..and then she tries to backpedal from the flirting with a "can't friends just talk about hair" (not exact dialog) and after my third play through as a female when I've used this option I have not had her ninjalove me.

You missed my point.

All I did was point out a bug that makes the "does the hero get his girl" dialogue show up regardless of whether you romanced or not. Even if her approval is very low and you never bothered triggering the romance, the line would be available to you when it shouldn't.

You know ,this got fixed somewhere along the line, perhaps in 1.03.  I looked at the toolset and saw the correct condition, then when I loaded a save from there, she didn't say it.  I know I didn't alter that file, and I don't have any dialog fixes that mess with it either.

Looks like some things ARE being fixed.

Edit: It's not the only fix I noticed, either.  I recently redid my fix to the city elf alienage so it wouldn't be reliant on a script file.  While it still had the major issue, some minor issues in it were fixed -- I know this because it involved Zevran's dialog there.  Now, there were still a few errors in it, and again, the major problem as well, but someone's going through and did something.

Second edit: Flags were hanging, yes they were.  Dear lord, I hope Blademaster isn't TOO mad at me for my inability to snip!

Leliana is really just adorable, and if you bother to get to know her you relaize that he "rose tint my world keeps me safe" is just her way of coping with all the horrors she has seen her life. She is also truly selfless. She even does everything to make it easy for you if you dump her.

That would be an Alastair motive. I don't think Leliana thinks like that due to not being self-deprecating.

Oh, sorry, I did miss your point.  When you choose this option in the post-coronation, what is Lel's response?  Do you get her as a LI?  And does the epilogue reflect that?
