Will we ever see a real patch for consoles?

After six months of waiting patiently, I have none left, this is just retarded. They have no problem taking our money, but they seem to have a huge problem with making the game actually work like it's supposed to, perhaps too much time has been spent on making DLC and other things they can charge us for, or contests that ignore most of us, or PR and marketing gimmicks. I mean the work has been done for them for a lot of these fixes, all they have to do is see how a modder made a fix and incorporate that into a patch, yet still we get nothing except them asking us to buy an overpriced bug-filled expansion and to vote for them for contests. The patch for the expansion (1.03) didn't even include any fixes that were present in previous patches like 1.02 (which had the dex fix I think for pc), instead it broke the game even more just to get us to buy the expansion.
I'm tired of being ignored, and tired of hearing that problems are "being looked into" and never getting anything. There is absolutely no excuse for this complete lack of support that we're seeing except greeed and laziness IMO, because there's no money in patches, only in DLC and expansions, and I'm guessing that most of the people are too busy rushing out DA2, ME3 and ToR to even begin to fix this game. From what I've seen so far, I have no choice but to be skeptical about a patch actually coming out. At least with the pc the modders took matters into their own hands and fixed a lot of bugs, but for those of us playing on the consoles, we're stuck waiting for a patch that most likely we'll never see. It's sad to see the direction that Bioware has gone since EA bought them, they are just Bioware in name now with EA calling the shots which just sucks because they care nothing about support, only about profits. Anyways that's my rant, I'm still hoping that they will prove me wrong and actually do something to fix this game, but I seriously doubt it....

what sucks is that at this point, even if they do fix anything itll be too late. there are tons of awsome games out now and more coming out this year. i dont see me putting the dragon age disc back in the console ever at this point. i guess i should sell it while i can still get a decent price for it, let the next poor bastard deal with the bugs.
whats really sad is, i used to come here to talk about bioware games, get tips, laugh at jokes, pretty much just enjoyed being a bioware fan... now the DAO xbox support forum is the only reason i check back everyday... just to see if they have pulled thier **** togeather yet. i used to hold bioware in such high regard, now i just think of them as a half assed money hungry dev who doesnt give a damn about thier customers/fans/community, unless of course they have some new DLC for us to buy, or want us to vote for this broken game.

Gearbox released Borderlands in October 2009, and it was filled with bugs, from minor to game-breaking. But by December they had fixed pretty much everything. And they were also releasing DLC packages all the while.
You are right HedStr8EyesTite, even if they release a major patch now, many people who are interested in the game will have stopped playing it, either out of frustration or because they just finished all of the content already.

Sadly, BW will be making more games that will be a reference, Other developers will come with better games based on BW and with a better customer care... it seems we are witness of the fall of BW. On the other hand, EA shall not care since BW is just one part of its companies, and that acquisition will be just another failed venture.

This is why Borderlands has replaced DA:O and ME2...Damn i just cant stop playing borderlands.......and no i dont think their will be a patch that will fix any thing that we complained about...I refuse to play this game anymore with out the DEX bug fixed. but i would settle for a re-spec tome for DA:O that would make the game a hell of a lot more fun and add more replay value

Same. Borderlands is by far the best game of 2009. Just on support alone it beats both DA:O and ME2 hands down!

I hate to be so negative, but I'm just so sick of the lack of any kind of support we've seen since day one. I really can't see how they expect to launch a MMO with this sh*tty attitude towards support, it's gonna fail horribly if they don't get their sh*t together. If they can't even patch this game six months after it's been out, how do they expect to keep people paying to play their MMO.

I think that even if they do release a patch, it will not be anywhere near what is needed, probably a few minor fixes to try and turn people back to their side, more a marketing ploy than an actual patch. IMO the damage has already been done, it's just one thing after the other and it's ruined Bioware's rep with many long time fans, myself included. I mean first they ignore us for months, only showing up when DLC was coming, then the whole bazaar thing, (which I still don't buy their bs excuse for) then they rushed out a bug filled, overpriced DLC and called it an expansion and gave us a patch to play it that contained no fixes and caused more problems with the game. Then to cover up the fact that they still weren't doing sh*t to fix anything, they release some useless DLC (feastday) that completely takes away from the whole conversation aspect of the game by basicly letting you control your companions love/hate towards you no matter what you say to them. I honestly found it insulting that they bothered to charge us for it, especially after releasing such a bug-filled expansion and buggy patch with no fixes. Instead of a peace offering, it was just another moneygrab.

Sadly, you are so right... My favourite game company ever has disappeared:crying:

This. They seriously need to step up their entire customer relations, that includes both support (timely patches) and communication. I mean, you get BW representatives in here once in a blue moon stating that they're aware of the issues and then they disappear again to God knows where.13Dannyboy13 wrote...

The tech support forums need to be the forum where they are the most BW posts, not the least. Not to mention that it shouldn't be the users who have to come up with and post workarounds in the time it takes to release a patch.

Sadly I have just about reached my limit and I'm going to move on. The thing that really pisses me off is that I paid full price for this game and still have not been able to finish it due to all of the bugs. What is more I'll be making sure to steer clear of any BW games. I even bought a PS3 to make sure I don't even think about getting anymore BW games. Enough is enough...
Besides, as you have already alluded to there are plenty of games on the horizon. And this is the biggest problem. My bet is thaqt BW have already got our money and know that we will move on, so why should they budget to even bother making any parches for this game. All I can say is I hope this support comes back to haunt them with DOA2 and ME3. I'll not be getting either!

One thing that bothers me, and the main reason I still have the game, (even if it is just collecting dust) is the amount of money I've spent on it, including DLC I've spent over $100 on it, as I'm sure most of us have. Sadly, I think that this is the beginning of the end for Bioware as we know it, they are now just another arm of EA. I think in general I'm going to steer clear of buying anything from EA or any of it's companies that it's taken over, the support is just not there. If anything I'll just rent the game for a week or something, I'd much rather give my money to the store than to the company that is too busy to actually fix their games, plus if it sucks or is bug-ridden I can just switch it for another game.
Looks like some good games coming out soon, so I might just take the loss on this one and trade it in while it's worth something still. Red Dead Redemption looks fun, plus UFC 2010 is coming out soon and a few others that look good, so I'm giving this game a few more weeks, then I'm giving up on it, it's just not worth the frustration. I think many people are at this point as well, it's been six months and no fixes for even small bugs, I hope that their lack of support comes back to haunt them. It's just sad though that so many people simply accept the huge amount of bugs, it just encourages EA/Bioware to continue to do nothing.

Agree with you 100% Dannyboy. As if it wasn't bad enough ps3 owners like me got shafted even more we cant play the game without crashing every 30minutes since 3.30 firmwire and bioware cared at first but i haven't heard anything from them in over 2days. Just silence and anger. They either need to just sever us and not make concel games or actually provide support and patches to bugs that destory the enjoyment of there game. Bioware needs to break off of EA they ruin everything like they did Battlefield and so many other countless games EA SUCKS BIOWARE LEAVE THOSES GOLD DIGGERS NOW.
Sadly that's not an option for them, EA owns Bioware now, they are really only Bioware in name and from what we've seen in terms of support everything but the name falls in line with EA's horrible support practices.

They've released real patches. After they broke the game with the original version of RtO, they released another patch to fix it.
I suppose you could count that, but it was really just fixing the botched dlc they released. What I was refering to mainly is the lack of any fixes for the huge amount of bugs present since day one. I mean six months later and there's still the save corruption bug which can ruin every single save file across all your characters, this is a HUGE bug that should've been addressed months ago, instead it's been ignored for the most part along with every other bug. Simply sending a dev to say that things are "being looked into" once every few months is just PR, there have been no fixes, yet the modding community has fixed most of the bugs for the pc. When we see a dev it's just to get us to give them more money or vote for them or just damage control for more bugs. Not once have we ever been given any solid info about fixes, only info on contests and DLC they want us to buy....very disappointing.

Amazing how all the devs disappear till it's time to release DLC, or to announce a contest, or some other PR stuff. After the voting was finished they disappeared again after giving the same response we've been getting for months. (we're looking into it) The forums seem emptier too recently, I think a lot of people have finally given up on this game, probably EA/Bioware included, they're too busy working to rush our DA2/ME3 and ToR. It's disappointing that so little effort was put into actually fixing this game before moving on to other projects, this game would be great if they actually fixed the bugs, but as it is now, it's good at best. Sad how greed ruins everything....
dont worry, all the devs and BW employees will be back here on the forums in a couple weeks... they have to promise us a fix is in the works again so that we will buy the new "darkspawn chronicles" DLC that hits xbox live on May 18th... you know, the **** they have been working on instead of patching this broken joke of a game.
i cant believe the fail train BW is riding lately... just this week alone we have them re-selling pre-order DLC for ME2, and announcing more DLC for DAO... it really is happening isnt it... the bioware we have known over the years is dead and buried under EA.

Maybe if they actually gave a f*ck about patching this game I'd consider getting more DLC, but as it stands I'm more likely to trade the game in on the 18th and put the money towards Red Dead Redemption or UFC 2010 or any of the other games coming out NOT made by EA. Seeing more DLC without any word on a fix and seeing what they've done with the pre-order ME2 stuff just makes me sad, I mean the work has been done for them already by the modders who, unlike EA, give a f*ck about fixing this game, all they'd have to do is look at their fixes and bundle them all in a patch because I'm sure that none of the modders would mind their fixes being used, they're free anyways for pc players, all EA/Bioware has to do is ask and they'd have their patch handed to them. Just wishful thinking though on my part, they haven't done sh*t in over six months why would they start now...

I'm trading DA:O in for Lost Planet 2. Sick of the futility in waiting for nothing to happen! I will deffinately not be getting DA:O 2. And they can shove their overpriced crap DLC. Besides, there are a metric **** load of ARPG and RPG games on the way this year and next year. Considering we have had ZERO support from BW, the bar is very low for other developers to actually provide even a half assed support for their games.

When I had a PC I never bought a EA game becasue of DRM. I thought it would be different on consoles, but its not. I'll never be buying a EA console game again that is for sure. I read that Bungie's next big game with Activision will be an ARPG. Lets just hope that Activision don't destroy Bungie like EA has done with BW. From all reports Bungie has retained more control over their games than IW, or BW has with EA.

Ill admit, im a bungie/halo fanboy... i was worried about the activision deal at first, but from the way it sounds, bungie got the deal they wanted. plus they cant be any worse than microsoft. an ARPG from bioware would be amazing im sure. im looking forward to see what they do now that they are pretty much done with the halo series.
also lost planet 2 looks amazing! was lost planet 1 any good?

Well so far what EA is doing is only hurting customers who buy it used cause gamestop doesn't have used copies at 45 like they should be w/o the dlc content.
ya, but at least when sombody does buy that used copy for 45 bucks, ea doesnt see a dime of it. at this point i just like the idea of sombody/anybody makeing money on an ea product without ea getting any of it... i guess im bitter.
