I just started playing DA:O recently and feel the same way.  I cant believe they would not patch all of the bugs.  I am a big fan of Mass Effect and have enjoyed Dragon Age, but EA is a terrible company and I think I will just refuse to buy or play anymore of there games when there are other companies out there who care for the customers.

Yup, until they actualy start supporting their games the only thing we can do is refuse to support them with our money. I stopped at awakenings, the price alone was enough to make me nervous, but then seeing that they really didn't do sh*t to fix the game did it for me. EA will do anything to make money and everything to avoid spending it, I mean look at what they did with the last dlc for ME2, they added in armor that was supposed to be specificly for people who preordered the game, a big FU to the people who went through the trouble to get the unique armor by preordering.
Oh well, they've had more than enough time to fix this game and simply chose not to, lots of good games out now, and more coming soon. This will just go on the shelf, what could have been a great game with a little support, ended up turning me against my favorite game company for years.....very sad.

Anyone else remember the contest they had that excluded most of their fans? Then we got the cheap-ass scripted apology and most people went back to being their best friend. What ever happened to the contest they promised the rest of us that were excluded due to a "legal issue"? (bullsh*t) It's funny how many people forgot about that, and are still blindly defending EA/Bioware even though they haven't supported tis game in the slightest. They have no trouble making patches for their dlc, but they can't tack on a few minor fixes, that's bullsh*t. Why people will still blindly buy up all the dlc and t-shirts and whatever else they try and sell us I will never understand, do they actually think that EA cares about them? Do they actually believe the same bullsh*t line we've been hearing for almost 8 months? It's nice playing games that actually work properly, RDR is very good, just grabbed ufc today another great game, and neither made by EA, guess that's why they actually work. I'm guessing that a lot of people are doing the same thing I have, which is move on to games made by companies that will actually fix the problems if they are there, not give us bullsh*t excuses and lies to push their products. It would be nice to see a patch one day though, but then again, my odds are probably better of winning the lottery before they do that.

been planning on picking up RDR and UFC, also Blur is a great game i want to buy, had alot of fun with the beta.  unfortunatly recent health problems and doc bills pilling up have me on the broke at the moment... havnt rented a game in years, but i may go down to blockbuster and give that a try.  although i do have this copy of DA:O i dont ever plan on playing again... what kind of trade in are people getting for DA:O?  did you ever get rid of your copy?  i just remember you saying you probably would if they didnt give us a patch before the new DLC came out.

Well Red Dead is absolutley amazing - I've spent nearly 20 hours on it already! If DA has really really pissed you guys off (and you havn't bought RDR already) I would highly recommend it.

As for DA, I'm giving BW untill the 1st of July. If a proper bug fixing patch isn't realeased before then, I will leave DA for good (although I will continue to support Mass Effect).

i feel ya man... im torn, DA:O is such a ****biscuit that i want to leave bioware behind for good, but ME2 is so good.  however, this DA fiasco has kept me from purchasing any of the paid ME2 DLC... i want to get it, i just cant bring myself to purchase ms points for that alone.

The ME2 DLC seems kinda weak IMO. The Cerberus stuff was pretty good for the most part and I did purchase the stupid App. pack (Garrus needed his new armor) but Kasumi is WAY overpriced and this new Overlord DLC might be as well. The Equalizer pack might be a future purchase for me just because it's cheap and new equip. is always nice.

On a different note, Red Dead Redemption is freakin awesome. I just got it today and I'm blown away,  Not to take anything away from Bioware but RDR is a game everyone should really consider buying.

I brought it in to see when I went and preordered RDR and the guy said I couldget like $20 for it, there was a stack of them already in the used games. Since I spent more than that just on the dlc, I decided to keep it as a coaster, consodering I've spent over $100 on the game, getting $20 just didn't seem worth it, it'll just sit up on the shelf collecting dust I guess till I get really bored one day.
Already finished RDR, it was a very fun game, I'm actually considering upgrading my xbox membership to gold just to try it online. I'm quite skeptical about the ME dlc coming out in June, it seems that they stopped putting anything up on the cerberus network, probably from EA b*tching and whining, I found it amusing that the firewaker dlc was free, yet they want to charge us for a couple of reskins....wtf.

damn! 20 bucks?!  thats what i was affraid of, held out on trading it in to long hopeing bioware would get thier act togeather, and now its not worth it.  oh well.  to me it seems like everything they put up on cerberus was just content that was removed from the finished game prior to release, in order to get people to buy it new rather than used... that is exactly what EA has been saying they planned on doing.  ME2 seems to have been the test run for thier 10 dollar program...

Yeah, they are so angry that they don't get money from used game sales that they want to take them out of existance for the most part. Soon it won't be worth it buying a used game from EA, but the thing they don't realize is that their sh*t support for their games makes people not even want to buy the new ones that come out. They blame piracy, yet they are a big reason that people do it in the first place, withholding content from a game just to make a few bucks off someone buying it used is borderline theft, this industry needs some real regulations for these greedy as f*ck companies before they ruin everything.
Ok, back to UFC again. Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I have said in the past that I would not buy any DLC for this game till they released a decent patch for it. Well, I caved in during PAX East and bought Awakening from the EA store for half price. Then about the same time I bought RtO from marketplace (on Xbox 360 :P) and have yet to play either. I'm done spending money on this game as it's clear that Bioware/EA is not interested in fixing the bugs and glitches in Dragon Age. BTW, looked into trading it in before buying any DLC for it and the local Gamestop offered $17 for it, I said no thanks. Borderlands is an awesome game and has sucked up hundreds of hours of my life already. I'm hoping for some more DLC with another level cap raise. :)

I agree, Borderlands is incredibly fun. I havent gotten the expansions for it yet but I'm hoping to get them later this month.

There are a lot of good games out now and I hope more and more people stop giving these greedy f*cks more money, maybe then we will actually see some real support for this game other than the "we're looking into" bullsh*t we've been hearing for almost eight months. Since the game is not even worth trading in I guess there's no choice but to keep hoping for a fix for this game, while playing another game that isn't broken or bug ridden.

We have the "Community" part working like a charm though. Everyone here helps each other out and we also post a little about our newest game favorites etc.

Community? yes, just not as Bioware had intended. :D

You know, any time you want to fix the game you can, almost eight months and we're still being ignored. You are losing fans by the day because of your sh*tty non-existant support, do you not realize that? or care? You are trading the loyal fans, that aren't mindless fanboys willing to believe any bullsh*t line you feed them, for casual gamers that will stop supporting you after they're tired of this game and move on to the next. You are selling out your true fans in favor of a few extra dollars trying to "mainstream" everything now, I mean that last dlc was a mindless hack and slash add-on. I guess true rpgs are dying because people just don't want to take the time to do some planning, and put in a good effort for playing a game. This game, the support it's gotten (none), and the attitude of EA/Bioware in general has made me lose hope for the future of this industry as a whole, very disappointing.

OT I think no. Just bought Red Dead Redemption from Rockstar and now have a feel how good support can look like. They keep the community informed and a patch and free DLC(!) comes soon too. There was a problem with disappearing players first....took 2days to fix and go through MS certification. However...There are still good companies out there and good other games too ;) Dont waste your time waiting here. World keeps moving around you ;)

Don't start with that sanctimonious crap here. That update from Victor is the result of a very recent communication in the PC support forum between Nathan and us (the community). To imply that this one act of appeasement vindicates them for months of neglect is ridiculous. It's taken months of complaining and silence from them to even get ANYTHING.

As I posted there recently, it's a good start, but that's it. What they do next will determine how we react. Our patience boost from this is going to be minor at best. And it won't last long. So cut it out with that pointless babble.

I would have preferred to play Dragon Age on the Xbox (recliners are better than desk chairs). Fortunately, I came to the party late enough that I had time to do some research and I picked up the PC version instead. (Even without the numerous bugs, the lack of a respec option in an RPG like this is a problem, though possibly not prohibitive.)

I've been watching these problems go unaddressed in amazement for a while now, particularly in light of Stanley Woo's unintentionally hilarious commentary on the matter. Since I have a functional copy of the game (albeit not on my preferred platform), my irritation has been pretty minor. I've certainly felt worse for Xbox purchasers than for myself.

I'm a casual gamer, but Bioware RPG's represent a statistically significant portion of my game library. After the neglect shown to Xbox owners these past few months, I find it hard to trust Bioware. I'm sure they can continue producing good RPG's (with embarrassing romances), but their willingness to take care of a wronged customer is in serious doubt at this point.

I'm glad to see word on an upcoming patch, but many Bioware posts have referred to an upcoming patch over the past few months. Mr. Wachter's more recent announcement doesn't seem to amount to much more than, "Hey, remember that patch that's supposed to be on the way? Well, stay tuned--it's still on the way!" I expect that they're closer to addressing the most glaring bugs (they can't be further away, though, can they?), which is good, if ridiculously late. I suspect, however, that there might be a point at which they close up shop on the fixes regardless of what isn't yet fixed.

Anyway, I want to believe that this is an anomaly and Bioware won't repeat this treatment of its customers. I will, however, have to see proof before I do. I will be eagerly watching the Xbox-playing community to see if their concerns are properly (if belatedly) addressed before I consider buying another Bioware game on that platform.

Good luck, everyone.

That post means nothing to me. Same old we're working on it crap but it takes time bs. I'm assuming they just started working on it then? After 7 months of flat-out ignoring us. Hell I don't even remember how to play the game anymore. Would have been nice to get this patch (which still hasn't happend, lets not forget that) back when I really needed it. I guess what i'm trying to say is their efforts are simply too late. Even if they released this patch tomorrow I would still be utterly disappointed from the total neglect they gave us for so long. As the above poster i'm expecting them to fix every major bug in origins/awakening before I can even consider purchasing awakening or any other bioware game for that matter.
