Hi I posted this on the 1.03 support thread but have heard nothing back.  I don't need it NOW but I'm a fixer and want to figure out how to fix this problem. I just installed the 1.03 patch and everything seems to work just
fine...for my SAVED games. However, when i go to start a NEW game, no
character models show up on the left-hand screen, just a blank space.
The cursor acts as if the model is there, but there's nothing. You can
go through and select race, class, etc, but when it comes time to
customize, still nothing shows up. Then I tried using the Character
Creator, which worked just fine, and tried to import the character into
the new game, and guess what...CRASH. Anyone else run into this, have a
fix? When I tried to load an old game I had to force the load because
after the reinstall/patch update it said I was missing DEMO_TUTORIAL.
Could that be it? I have some appearance customization overrides but
they've not caused any problems before.  I've even gone and downloaded the chargenmorph compiler from the Nexus (which works FANTASTICALLY if you have a bevvy of different appearance files that clash), but nothing's showing up.  I've noticed that in the directory for the independent character creator there are a group of files in the c:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age Origins Character Creator\\modules\\Character Creator\\override\\toolset folder that look exactly like the files that are either missing or misfiring in the My Documents area where the game is run from under XP.  Question is, if I copy and paste these files, where do I put them?  Any help appreciated; even a starting point will help me track down and hopefully fix the problem.

I'm getting the same issue with my game. I just got my computer back up and running and redownloaded the game plus all the DLC. Everything seems to be working fine, but I can't see the character to custimize them. Kind of hard to jump back in and get back to where I left off at.

I have the same problem. No clue how to fix it however.

I had this issue after installing patch 1.03 and reinstalling the game re-updating didn't fix it. So I rolled back to patch 1.02a and everything works fine and I left it there for now. So the only real consequence is that I can't play Awakenings...no great loss there.



As for solving this issue, Bioware appears to be unaware of it's existence.

Have you got a new class mod installed, ie cleric paladin or shaman, i built new class, and when try to use it i get no character in character screen. Check your mods you have installed hope this helps

Same for me, no mods installed or anything ... just that after installing latest patch no model showing for char creation .... the weirdest thing though ... this problem is obviously as old as the patch and there are no answers on that matter from bioware

The several of you complaining about this have all ignored the fact that this is not a 100% symptom, so if any of you were serious about fixing whatever was wrong, where is the standard problem report?  (Priestley's, not Wachter's)
