I think this would be pretty ****ing sweet if it was done correctly. Being able to play as one of the main races in mass effect (Turian, Asari, Human, Salarian) would be amazing. Getting a ship and having ship battles would be really cool too. Even the conversation system would still work in an MMO, a player gets paragon points / renegade for how they responde to the NPCs. With these points they can gain the alliance of other factions or get special weapons/armors and what not.

Anyway, I think this would be pretty cool. I don't know if there is a topic about this or not, but I don't really care either. What are your opinions?

From what I understand, WoW murdered Warcraft's storyline. We wouldn't want that to happen to the ME universe, now, would we?

I personally, loathe MMO communities, so I wouldn't buy it, and while I think their time is better spent on Single Player campaign games, as well as their strengths, I'm not entirely opposed to the idea

Not neccessarily. They have lots of backstory to what is going on, its just so much reading that no one cares enough to read it. I definately wouldn't want a Mass Effect MMO to be in the same style as WoW though. I'd want it to be more of a story-line type MMO like Guild Wars is.

I dunno, just off the top of my head with some ideas that could be fun:

-Each race has their own story line until the max level is reached (or when a certain quest is completed) where the player then becomes a specter. The race choices could be something like the Turians, Humans, Asari, Quarians, Krogan, Salarian, etc.
-Each race has their own story-line and quests which they can complete. For example, a Quarian player would start out on the Migrant fleet and go through a series of quests before they start their pilgramage. They would then end up in the citadel and start saving the galaxy from what ever the story line is and become a specter after doing some missions. Another example, a Krogan player would start out on Tchunka and have to prove themselves to the krogan by ungoing certain rites. Until they get the rite to prove themselves to the galaxy and later become a specter.
-When the player reaches specter status, they gain access to their own ship where they can start exploring the galaxy and doing some harder quests like killing reapers and what not.
-Can have some fun with the clan system too. A Quarian clan would be the ship where those players are from and it would be put at the end of their name. (Tali vas Normandy, etc). Krogan clan would be like... a clan. That clan name would be put in front of their time. (Like Urdnot Grunt/Wrex).

Just some random ideas off the top of my head.

Not really, I have the image itself saved, not the URL. Besides, why would you want to?

Yes, it says a lot....? The last time I used the search feature and bumped a thread it got locked because it was a 2 month old thread. Besides that, I don't feel like reading through a 100 post topic, i'd rather start a new discussion.

What makes you think it would be any different from the last threads? The point was that you should have used the search function to see what people think without making another thread about it, not to restart a discussion which has been had back and forth in every single possible way.

What I would like to see from the Mass Effect franchise someday though. Is a game which has a similar origins system to Dragon Age. You get to pick from a certain amount of races and the aim to to become the next spectre. It will be set way after Shepard stories, but it would be cool to find codex info and hidden Shepard tapes during your quest.

That would be pretty cool too. I want to play as other races, humans are cool but the other races are really fascinating!

Yeah I know what you mean. But I am sure BioWare have mentioned that Mass Effect will not be ending with the third game. They probably realise that the fans would love to play as Krogans and Turians etc. So when Shepards story is finished, we could see a Mass Effect : Origins type game on the next gen console.

Fortunately, MMO's are expensive to develop and maintain, so it's unlikely that Bioware will do two at once.
