You may need to reboot the PC itself, if Dx9 is unstable in any manner (yes, Dx9, not Dx10, not Dx11).Boltern wrote...

As you have already been reminded, please don't post a report like yours, without including the diagnostic data.

Do i remove whole DX ? or how do i get both 9 and 11 ? I think some other games use 11, like modern warfare 2.
Any tips?

Got it sorted out yet or?
Did you install the game and run dx redists as administrator? Or just let the installer install direct-x when it gets to that part.
Perhaps the game simply needs D3D9 Overlay support.

No i have not fixed the problem.
I am admin from start aint i? I both ran the installation on its own and when installing game, reinstalled the drivers but nothing seem to help.
What is D3D9 Overlay support?

The last previous comment was "unaswerable". Basically, so is yours. You didn't make a standard problem report, as per Chris Priestley.DapperDan16 wrote...
I jusy got mass effect 2 and am trying to install it on a new laptop, a gateway and it is not running. Looking at the requirements and what is loaded on my laptop, the only difference is Directx 10 is on the laptop and and ME2 is 9.0c. I think this is my problem, but I cant find a way to uninstall 10 and find a place to install 9.0c from. can you help?
The URL at the end, above, was for the report description. Four graphics sofwares, actually are all in play. Drivers, PhysX, Direct3D, and the game itself. Direct3D is automatically the Dx10 version if the OS is Vista, but the game itself has to have Dx9, and it will install that all by itself, unless you make it stop doing so (you need BOTH Dx10 and Dx9 for Vista plus Mass Effect).

You can confirm this by running the program dxdiag.exe and going to the "display" tab.
