The announcement will have multiple parts:

1. New armor (the arc armor), maybe a new heavy pistol, maybe the mini-gun heavy weapon.
2. Alternate appearance pack #2. (Tali or Miranda will be in it, not both)
these above 2 will be released quickly. The gear will be free to Cerberus members.

3. Major DLC: this will involve missions, possibly include Liara or Kaiden/Ash, but will not be released for another month, maybe two if it is a more significant DLC.

I hope you're right about all that, because it would be so epic.

Like it has been pointed out, horizon is the location of a LI / crew member of me1. it could be the shadowbroker grab them to get to you. makes it possible to get the me1 LI's involved in the liara dlc.

The thing is, before the Horizon mission Shep doesn't know Ash/Kaiden are there, and afterwards he/she leaves Horizon to report back to the Alliance...

Anyway, to speculate: I can imagine that there will be several DLCs announced at once, as others here have suggested. I reckon it'll be the appearance pack #2 and some kind of weapon/armour combo.

It is, however I doubt if there was a DLC involving Horizon that it would be exclusively about that one particular LI. It could involve an encounter with the LI, if you had one, but keep in mind plenty of people did not necessarily take LIs from the first game. In the three Shepards I have, one of them didn't get with Ashley, one did get with Ashley, and one chose to let Ashley die instead of Kaidan. In two of those Shepards, a DLC focused on that one specific LI would be irrelevant. I would welcome a DLC like this if they planned to make some for the ME2 LI's as well though.

Why would it be irrelevant?  I doubt any DLC featuring Ashley or Kaidan would just focus on the romance aspect.  The main plot of the DLC would deal with some aspect of the story all ME players will enjoy, and there might just be a few extra lines or two added for those that did romace one of those characters.

I have never romanced Ash or Kaidan, but would be quite ecstatic for DLC featuring them.

People get so 'LI focused' and they have to remember that each of them are also characters that exist and have a role outside of a romance with Shepard.

I think people are making too much out of 'on the horizon' being some sorta clue.

Also guys keep in mind that since they are already developing ME3, some of the voice actors are already lending their voices. It's a good deal we will see more professional DLC from so on, since actors can work simultanously on both ME3 and DLC.

from the wording it makes it sound like it might be info on several upcoming dlc's, rather than just a single one.

I seem to remember shepard reporting to the council in ME1 via ftl comms..... who's to say ash/kaiden won't do the same, then decide to stay on horizon to help out.

Only most of the colonists were taken by the collectors and those that remained hated the Alliance.  The only reason Ash/Kaidan went there was as a cover to investigate Shep/Cerebus potentially being behind the abductions.  Ash/Kaidan are loyal soldiers not humanitarian aide workers and I see no point for the Alliance to keep her/him on a colony outside Alliance space.

So wot else is there on horizon that's remotely interesting, apart from ash/kaiden and a few hundred dead collectors..... ohImage IPB

No offense, but the phrase 'On the Horizon' doesn't necessarily mean the planet Horizon.  In that post they also talk about the comic book, graphic novel verision, and the Geth T-shirt.  You may be looking too hard for a clue about the DLC with 'horizon'.

Well it is a play on words, eternalnightmare13. The question is, is it more than that..? :)

What's on the Horizon?

Other than Collectors abducting colonists?

The only thing I am hoping for if it is missions based, is that some of the future DLC is definitely going to be set after the last battle.

 Wow, I didn't mean to cause so much debate by bringing it up as a theory. Of course eternalnightmare that it probably isn't a DLC based on Horizon, I'm not sure what else they could do there. However, at the sametime, plenty of developers and publishers attempt to create hype for something and then leave you a clue as to what that something is. It's getting more and more common all of the time. You are more than likely right and it's not a DLC about Horizon. However, there is still a possibility they are attempting this form of marketing. I hate to sound like the conspiracy theorist here, but I'm not going to rule out the possibility.

Allow me to correct what I said earlier, it's not irrelevant if I didn't get Ash or Kaiden as an LI. They are still important characters in the game. However, the person who mentioned them as being on Horizon did it from the context that they were LIs. I was merely taking it in their context since I had 2 games without an LI in ME1. I assumed since they said something about meeting your LI, they were implying a DLC which could push the romance a little further and in that respect I made a mistake. I probably shouldn't have assumed -anticipates the famous phrase associating with assuming-.

First off the “What's on the Horizon?” is nothing more than a play on words using a location in ME2 for horizon. Read the first lines below it. “Other than Collectors abducting colonists? Well, we got tons of awesome updates for you!”

As for this being anything important, I just don’t see it. They will probably announce a bunch of trivial junk like the Alternate Appearance Packs or new armor or weapons that may get released by the end of May. As for anything big like the rumored (and that’s all it is so far) Liara and the Shadow Broker content I wouldn’t hold my breath on it anytime soon or being that good for that matter. Look at the downloads we have gotten so far for ME2, paid or free its not that impressive at all.

Zaeed is the only one of any worth since his mission at least gives you a paragon and a renegade choice for his mission. Did Kasumi’s? All I saw was a renegade interrupt. Neither of them have recruiting missions because it probably was to hard for the developers to write something for them so that lessens them even more. Look at Shale (The Stone Prisoner) for Dragon Age, it had a decent mission you had to do before getting her. So why couldn’t Zaeed or Kasumi have some small quest to get them beside walking up to them and saying “Welcome aboard”.

All the other downloads are just really pathetic actually. A vehicle that needs to go back into development, more weapons -most of them are heavy ones, armor that you cant toggle the helmet off on, a crash site that is nothing more than a collect the tags mission and lacks depth, an alternate appearance pack that was more of a joke than anything, and of course little avatar picture packs that still hasn’t covered the entire group. Its like they are going out of their way to do everything half assed.

So sorry. Whatever BioWare has to say about any future downloads wont impress me much at all. Their track record speaks for them.

I'm actually gutted I want be able to get it on day one. I am a silver member on Xbox LIVE as I hate multiplayer games so don't see the point in paying 40 quid a year anyore. That 40 quid could be another great game for chuffs sake. But being a silver member means we have to wait 5 days before we can try new demos or DLC.

With Silver you wait for Demos, but DLC is available right away.

More than anything, I'm hoping for some post-game content. I've been hesitant to pick up the Kasumi pack because if I'm going to shell out the money, I want an opportunity to utilize her for an extended period of time and I don't have it in me to do a whole new playthrough. But if there were missions taking place after the main plot on the disc, that would give me an excuse to pick up all of the additional content.

It's probably too much to ask for, but I'd love to see a level creator like what was recently introduced for Dante's Inferno.
