Honestly, I wouldn't find
it totally out of character. You can be a mousy nerd and still try to
keep an eye on current trends, it's a way of getting closer. Maybe she
feels lonelier than she wants to admit out on digsites and keeping an
eye on the latest makeup trends helps her feel closer to other people,
even if she doesn't really want to socialize and be out in the
spotlight.

The rest of her makeup was immaculate, after all. Pink
blush always looks so out-of-place on blue skin...
