For the very first time and all I can say is..wow what an amazing ride that was! Now I can wait to do it again haha, this time with a Dwarven Casteless Warrior.  I want to get absolutely everything I missed this time and I also think the first round I may have gimped my rogue soo.. I'm here to ask this. What stats should i work on for a warrior? Also I want to be a heavy armored tank/dps should I go two-handed, dual wield, or sword and board? Thanks in advance. (Edit)  Possibly an Arcane Warrior also..undecided hehe.

Well imo I think DW hit more than 2h generally because of attack speed and stat builds, when I was a rogue (dw) I was dealing more damage than my warrior (2h), I have always rated rogues over warriors even if rogues seem awful in da.

for DW I would do a 2-1 ratio of dex/str depending on the armor I want to wear.

If im going 2h I do add a little dex but not too much most of it goes on str, I rarely run con builds because my warrs are usually dwarfs who have decent con from start.

Thats how I do my builds, however I sometimes mix around depending on the role and specs I want to play.

I really liked my DW warrior best for a long time. Then, so that I would have a sword and shield character in Awakenings from the beginning, I went ahead and created a sword and shield warrior. To my great surprise, I loved it!

I had thought that only one S/S in party (Alistair) was fine, and it is. But having two of them made melee really easy. And there is plenty of really good heavy and massive armor that you acquire, so having a great set of eq for each of the shieldbearers was pretty awesome.

I think the two-handed and archer are also going to be fine, but they're really different approaches. Two-handed is all about stunning and having slower, huge damage swings. And archer is all about sniping from a distance. So it will depend on your play style, really.

For me, if I was going warrior on a future playthrough, I'd probably go sword and shield again. I really like having my DW and my archers play on rogues because of the rogue-specific talents that you pick up. Those make archer/DW really rock.

The thing about 2hander is it isn't the best dps and it's not the best tank but it's got a lot of utility and if built right can be a powerhouse. I run with a two hander and i dpstank and i love it.

And after playing dw rogue both a cunning build and a strength build i can't really get into dw warrior.

Id have to say that both s/s and 2hander are awesome fun.

I have finished 2 characters one aw and one dw warrior. Unfortunatly:(  my AW was a epic fail and i dont really like them. I dont know if i built wrong or got wrong skills cuz i only  got buffs literally and imissed soo much things like the high dragon ,flemeth shale and many more. the only positive thing i like bout him is that i killed gaxkang and DIED on Casual like wtf but not my party just me (the warden). But my DW warrior was a success. I did mostly everything like Flemeth,Highdragon, got ageless keening blade and many more.Ok enough of that my 3rd guy might be a arcane warrior with a staff (using bonuses just for armor).or a archer. Please help me decide and BTW My AW was such a fail i sold the Juggernaut Set , Helm of Honnleath, Effort Set, and Wades superior drakeskin armor. maybe my last thing he failed so hard i can die by an ogre:pinched:.But my DW warrior was awesome:happy:. and if someone can help me i cant upload my DW warrior i wanna show him but i cant pls help.:(

there are some good guide for aw on forum, check them out. i played aw a few time, very fun with lots of utility. maybe it is the choice of spells u get wrong that make ur aw not reaching full potential.
must have
rock armour
all of aw spells
arcane shield
miasma
heal-regeneration(up to u)
crushing prison
glyph of warding,paralysis

good to have
virulent walking bomb(tricky to use but big aoe)
mana clash
flaming weapon
frost weapon
fireball/cone of cold

my next playthru will be based on this list. after looking thru various wiki, commentary, i think those few spells will the the best for aw. i will exclude fireball and cone of cold as i need to sheath weapon to cast them. second spec will be bm with skills up to blood wound. this i think will be the ideal built for aw. if without the flaming and cfrost weapon, i might go for stinging swarm.

Pure strength 2h builds can easily do insane DPS. I think people are too quick to dismiss them because early in the game 2h just seems so slow and not particularly powerful.

The trick with 2-handers is how you spam out your abilities, let him auto-attack, then as soon as he makes that first auto-attack, choose an ability like mighty blow, pommel strike, etc. you end up attacking twice 1 after the other. Certainly makes him a lot quicker dishing out damage.

Most Two-Hand talents are two-hit abilities naturaly.

Well as we were discussing at one point there are ways to get your autoattack speed so high that you play differently. But I really only like the ability spamming style. Feels more interactive.

Indeed while you can get your attack speed to be .50% or greater by cheating. Its still not the best way to use a Two-Hand style Warrior. It literaly is all about Talent Spaming Cycles.

The extra advantage of this is also as a Two-Hand style character you can devote all your attribute points to just Strength. Usualy haveing 100+ Strength by the end of the game.
Though ive recently seen a friends Willpower stacked Two-hander Warrior Berserker/Templar/Spirit Warrior who did some surprising things.

In any case the pure strength ability-spamming 2h warrior works, WELL. It was my impression before I actually tried one that I would deal more damage with DW. I got that impression from reading some posts about how 2h wasn't so great at DPS. But it actually seemed to be the other way around once I gained a few levels. I guess it's because DW gets Momentum rather early and that's a huge DPS boost, but in order to be an ability spammer you need to spend a lot more points.

Great sword warrior has been fun! It takes tactics, and I recommend Alistair as a tank while you scrap. Morrigan freezing targets also helps
