I was just wondering if there are actual practical uses for the various items that you pick up throughout the game such as the bowl, or silver goblet, or personal documents, etc. etc.
So far I've just been selling them to the Dwarven merchant in my camp. I wasn't sure if there was some other use for them and perhaps I should hang on to them?
Thanks.

the docs can be used for a quest in the game.
The bowls I end up just selling. Be careful not to sell the "gift" items marked as such, though you can buy them back if you need to.
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm told that the dwarves in Orzammar can use them for armor.

Ok, so don't sell the documents. What quest are they for?

i came across a somewhat shady character handing out missions. basically the love notes you keep finding are turn ins to (I THINK) the crows, or another group. The quest giver is in the capital city in the northeast. i assume they ask for the other paper docs you find for other illegal purposes.

If I recall...
*** SPOILER ***
The Blackstone Irregulars will give you a mission about the documents. You can start the quests from them at Redcliffe.
My apologies to anyone who wants to yell at me for not replying in a separate post in the spoilers forum. =)
