Please don't post anything unrelated in my thread. I believe this should go in game discussion.
Thank you.

I named the dog in Dragon Age: Origins "Cakemuncher", you should name your dog "cakemuncher" too

@Blade: Heh..."NO, my thread! RUFF RUFF RUFF"
Well, i don't know if you are into history much, but the Lab was originally from Newfoundland and the breed thought to be the starting point of the dog was known as a St. John's [Water] Dog (possible name?). Also, completely unrelated, but you get a dog in DA:O - given that it's a war-hound, I immediately thought of the wardogs used by the Roman empire, so i named my DA:O dog "Rubicon", after the italian river. Given the Lab breed's amazing ability to work, swim, and its impressive strength, you may use the name if you wish...unless you think people will think of the sammich first...then, maybe not.

How about Cerberus, the guardian of thw underworld.
Or you could call it Dogmeat after the one in Fallout.

Sorry, totally thought it was about the Dragon Age Doggie we were naming! If it's a personal family pet doggie, (nice choice on the black english lab puppy, btw) I would totally name her Molly or Lilou (like "lee-lou").

I personally love more... interesting names, such as Athena (everyone here seems to like it, except said brother, of course). We also toyed with Storm, but my much more good-natured sister didn't like it much. Rubicon is also an awesome idea... when I live by myself after college, I'm gonna get a dog and have so much fun naming it... haha. 'Til then, I'm hoping we go with Athena or Storm, but we're definitely not finalizing until we get her.
@Dsurion- Great impression of me, made my day. Thanks.

My mom suggested Skittles, actually. I could go with it if it didn't make me think of the candy instantly.

My animals are all currently named after booze so I don't think I'm going to be much help in a family setting.
Maybe......Godiva?.....since she's a chocolate lab right?

I have a couple of different naming thoughts, if you will indulge me.
My cats (the ones that didn't come from a shelter) have all been named "cat" in some langage or other. I have had Cath Anwyll, Welsh for beloved cat; Gattino, kitten in Italian; and the misnamed Petit Chat who was supposed to be a little French cat.
My plan when we have a place big enough for a hound or two is to name them after various writers and/or philosophers. Austen, Kit or Marlow, Gibran, Plato, or perhaps just Poet.
The favorite of my mabari was for my mage. I named him Templar.
