Yet Halo is highly successful, just like WoW. Regardless I was thinking on the terms of Borderlands...which seems to be the other highlight of discussion in this topic.

multi player and co op is basicly killing the game play for games ( story wise) wich isnt a good thing. i mean cmon you dont see final fantasy fanboys ( not me) demanding for multi player or co - op

You don't need to kill the story, just don't directly cut into Commander Shepard's line of story and only skirt around the central area and plot of ME, and you can easily come up with quests and a multiplayer game.

Yet you have FF11 or whatever, which is also one of the more prominent, successful Multi-PLATFORM MMOs.

i dunno man when it comes to mass effect id preffer it stays the way it is and that includes future titles unless if those future tiltles go's the mk shaloin monks route of being action adventure but mixed with some rpg elements...

Co op will NOT work.

This is Mass Effect, not Neverwinter Nights... nuff said.
YOU are the one saying co-op will not work because of combat pause.
I can think of other reasons why they shouldn't do it though.

ME is not a real-time game. Co-op is not viable.

Why cant people who want co op go back to Gears and Borderlands, stop trying to change ME to something that its not. ME is not a run and gun shooter like so many games out there. Also for people wanting to streamline the dialog to implement co op, this is a terrible idea. The dialog in my opinion is one of the best aspects of the game. I'm tired of going on the forum and only seeing posts about multiplayer. Just get over the fact that ME is not a multiplayer game like halo.
ty! and i am betting that most these multi player/ co-op posters are younglings and dont even understand on how a great game like mass effect would be ruined if such a thing is done

It seems like multiplayer would ruin a game like mass effect. Even co op in my opinion is a bad idea for a game like this, if you want a 3rd person multiplayer game go play gears of war. Could some one explain how this could even be possible in a game like this and how would not it not ruin the experience of mass effect?
"shrug"
If you mean competitive multiplayer, yould at least make multiplayer with all Soldiers, so people could use the shooting-and-cover system (if they enjoy it) against other players.
Do you mean campaign co-opt? That would be painfully hard to implement into the Mass Effect since it is at least partially an RPG.

I'm talking mainly about the co op, it just doesn't seem feasible since Mass Effect is an rpg

Don't get me wrong, if the story/character elements had to suffer in order to adapt the game for co-op, I would be against the initiative. If they could do both well, I would support it.
