All the hair options suck, so after 15 minutes of failing miserably I just went with what I thought looked ok.

i know! why do all the hair options for male-shep have to be so short. my hair goes down a little past my chin so i could never make shep look like me no matter how much effort i put into it. i was disappointed with the character customization this time around.

Nah, I was satisfied after my first try

I'm sorry but this shepard looks like the creepy robot in Blade Runner

only thing that bugged me about creating my shep, was the fact that i choose light brown hair, but then in game he looks like a ginger. even the dark brown hair looks a little redish in some scenes.

does the default shep look hispanic to anybody else?

trying to get a good looking maleshep? I mean christ It must be the 20th time I've tried I'm surprised I have not gone insane, I think there's something wrong with me.

anybody else this stubborn or anybody else have too much time on their hands?

It is incredibly hard to make a pretty FemShep.

For MaleShep it´s not hard, though - it is impossible.

Once again, I disagree. I've seen many a good femshep and I'm mortally attached to my femshep back from ME1

@Javier: How did you get blue skin on Shepard?

It's not blue in the game but a dark, almost obsidian colored skin.
Go through Gibbed Save editor, and change the Skin Tone to
R = .1 B = .1 G = .1

I wouldn't say the default John Shepard looks the best; his face is just much more detailed than any custom face you will ever make. Not to mention Mark Meer's voice fits surprisingly well with the default male appearance. In any case, I play as the default male as well -- however not the female. I have tweaked her looks a little and will tweak her dramatically next time when I import her.

Posted Image I completely agree

I didn't like the default, so I spent hours and hours and restarts and hours getting a good-looking Shepard. I just can't play through the whole game if there is some part  of Shepard's look that I don't like. It's like a neat freak seeing dirty dishes in the sink for me.Posted Image

I didn't really cared if my Shep was good looking, he's a goddamn soldier.
This is my Shepard:

Nothing special, but I like him and that's what matters to me (Yes he uses TiM's eyes).

I tried making my sheppard look like a elf from LOTR or a blond vulcan from Star Trek. failed.

What, so John Lennon, Hulk Hogan, Lemmy Kilminster and that guitarist from U2 were all from Alabama because of their moustaches? It's a 'tache, get over it :P

I really didn't spend too much time on my shepard which is female. You have preset ones but beyond that even creating an original looking character the facial features are pretty much just variations of the default. Either really attractive or really ugly, but not really exactly like whom you are. The problem with the editor is that you can't make your own face appear on a female or even male. You can get close but not exact. Only way to get exact is to do what they did with the Illusive Man and Miranda and Jacob. They did digital scans of people's faces and then incorporated them into the game.
I tried to get my female shepard as close to looking like me as possible but... with the restrictions to what hair styles they have, eye orientations, colors and other facial features it's just not possible. Hell you have a better face editor in DA:O than you do in ME or ME2. In fact you have more choices and more customizability in DA:O than you do in ME2. I'd like them to incorporate that facial editor into ME3.

I love all my custom Shepards. It usually takes me ten or fifteen minutes of tweaking to get them just right. I find it easier to try to model a real face. I have a Mark Meer shepard, a Jennifer Hale Shepard, a Meg Ryan Shepard, a Zoe Saldana shepard and a Jeff Bridges shepard!

I prefer my Shepard a lot more than the weird default one. His only advantage are the textures. =[

I had this problem in the first one. That voice seems to go with the default Shep only. The more bad-ass i make them look, the more gay they sound (not that there's anything wrong with that).Femsheps i can make and the voice always sounds right. My problem there is finding a mouth other than the default one that doesn't make her look like a catfish.
