I'm having trouble with the BDtS install.

I just installed Windows 7 and am reinstalling Mass Effect.

Mass effect installed and runs fine. I installed patch 1.02 as well.

The problem begun when I tried to download BDtS. It downloaded fine, but after finishing installation an error message came up saying the install failed. It offered 2 options, cancel and reinstall with Windows Compatibility mode.

I selected the Windows Compatibility mode option (which worked fine whe installing ME2 DLCs btw) and proceeded to attempt reinstall.

What happened was the install was cancelled immediately after the install key was entered. I try to download it again but the same problem persists. It will not rerun the install.

I also tried copying the MASSEFFECT\\DLC folder fomr a backup into the Games\\MASSEFFECT\\ folder but when attempting to play it still says nI can't resume because I don't have BDtS installed.

Any ideas what else I could try?

I emailed this to support. Hopefully will get resolution soon.

I'm suspecting it has something to do with a limit to downloading the DLC.

Cutomer support is so frustrating.. I tell them its an issue with the product key for the DLC, they send a long email telling me how to check the disk and how to get around problems with a bad disk. ITS A DOWNLOAD!

I don't think they really read the emails.

What happened the first time you ran it sounds a bit odd, but the immediate cancellation the second time sounds like a common problem with Win7. You might look at this thread.

Yeah the first time was probably because it needs to be in compatability mode..

Thanks for the link! I'm still waiting for support to give me a new key, or reset that one or something.. If they don't get back to me by end of day tomorrow, I'll try the regedit solution :)
