Don't mistake me for having physical prowess and nothing else.  I am skilled in the art of sword fighting and hand to hand combat amongst others.  Such skill is an art that requires strength, finesse, agility, and a razer sharp mind.

Firing a gun only requires pouting and pulling a trigger, if you have a
shotgun it should have a pretty wide spread. Isn't that easier and superior to sword fighting, hand to hand e.t.c..? You should have just bought some guns, that';ll show society.

Guns are for cowards.  My abilties and mastery of the sword as well throwing weapons such as knives and shurikens will take any coward by surprise.
I have an intense awareness of my surroundings.  Nobody ever has an advantage over me, I only let them think that way.  A coward is always the most overconfident when they have a gun.  They're the easiest prey.

No really....I don't see you as 26. and certainly not 19.

As far as your physical prowess.....staring into the camera as if you are about to make love to it and flexing a bicep doesn't prove anything really.

And also what good does sword fighting do you in this day and age?

I know it's hard to believe that my biceps can be that strong in a relaxed state but I am not flexing my bicep.

What good is a sword?  Are you kidding me?  The sword is only as mighty as the one who wields it.  During the last age of the Samurai, during the Satsuma rebellions the Samurai were outnumbered 10 to 1 against the Meiji government.  The Samurai were on the verge of victory until cowardly reformist decided to abandon the sword and take up the gun.
A sword is a conduit of one's strength and ability.  Any coward can shoot a gun but it takes a master to wield a sword effectively.  That is the only reason the age of the Samurai came to an end, because the cowards outnumbered the masters.
There are still those who practice the ancient arts though such as myself.  When the governments of the world collapse in their greed and debaucheries it will be only the strong and mighty who survive and the world will once again be ruled by the sword!

Pitiful perrformance.  Had that swordman focused on Indy's sluggish marksmanship he could've deflected the bullet and gone in for the kill.
It's a work of fiction but a true swordmaster can take out even a skilled gunman.

you do realize it is an obsolete weapon. Nothing to do with cowardice. You missed my point. Swords are no longer relevant in this day and age. Hence you have to bring up Samarai which are also no longer relevant in warefare today.

By the way, playing Luke Skywalker with a broomstick doesn't count as mastering the art of the sword. Sorry to burst your bubble.

As I said before, a sword is only as powerful as the one who wields it, that is why a gun is the choice weapon of a coward.  Someone who masters in the art of sword fighting would never trust his life to a coward's tool.

The sword did not become obsolete, rather there are too few worthy enough to wield one.  As a swordsman myself I could easily take out any marksman.  Most would not even get the chance to draw their gun at me.

No. As powerful as I am I am still only a mortal. We have short lives, and it is that realization of my own mortality that drives me in my quest to become the perfect warrior. When society inevitably collapses only the strong will survive. It will be up to people like me to create a new society where the strong such as myself preside over the weak and the weak are given the protection from the strong to ensure the freedom to pursue their labour so long as it is beneficial to society.

That is what you've been brainwashed to believe.  Ignorance is the ultimate weapon of the powerful.  The powerful are weak and rely on their guns to impose obedience on society.  The sword is what empowers the truly capable and strong members of society and it is those people the cowards fear the most.

You know Mr.Bombastic. For all the people accusing me of such the fact remains that I have attacked nobody personally here.
I created this topic to discuss my recent racing success as well as just running and fitness in general and I have shown great humility and respect for everyone who has posted here despite the incredibly rude comments.
I've got a 5 K this weekend.  Going to try to run it in under 20 minutes, shouldn't be too hard but I need to get some rest for some training tomorrow.

First, it depends on the type of ammunition, and second, even if the sword remains intact the bullet will shatter which will send shrapnel your way, and i look forward to the video where you test this personally.

Not just any sword can deflect a bullet. Only those forged by a master swords smith can withstand the impact of a bullet. Such swords smith were common during the era of the Samurai. They were mostly hunted down and executed by the Meiji government at the end of the Satsuma rebellions to ensure that such a powerful sword could never be wielded again.

However, a few survived, and their teachings were passed down through their descendants. Only those who are sworn to the art of the sword have ever earned the honor to wield such a blade, and thus such weapons are exceptionally rare.

Goodnight.

You got me. I have been waiting since last year for you, and only you, to "prove me wrong" and show me that you can run a race. By randomly posting in a videogame forum pics and talking about your "sword fighting" or some such nonsense shows you're just an attention-****. It is my job to point you out.

Huh...I know how to use a sword but I'd never make such an ambitious statement, that I could not only block, but deflect a bullet, let alone see something the size of a bean or a bit larger coming towards me at almost 900 feet per second, you have watched too many movies I'm afraid, no amount of meditation or focus will help with that claim either.

You guys really shouldn't have gotten him started on the sword thing.

Also, since Busomjack is back, I'll ask. Why not post this on the Runner's World forums or on another site dedicated to running? More people would be impressed with what you did elsewhere I think, and less likely to mock you. More importantly, they'd be able to give you tips on how to improve your time and/or training methods that they like. I realize that this is the Off Topic forum and this is an off topic thread, but you would get more bang for your buck posting this in another place.

If you can track the movements of your enemies with exact precision, it is possible to deflect the bullets if you have a sword forged by a master.

As for why I'm not posting this in Runner's World. Well, that is because the people there do not need inspiration.

I'm a gamer like the rest of you but I am living proof that just because you're a gamer doesn't mean you can't be a powerful warrior as well.

There are sleeping dragons that lie dormant in many individuals from all walks of life. It is my hope to awaken that dragon so that I may find alongside them as allies.

The problem with the inspiration thing is that no one is going to be inspired by these threads. There are far more inspiring tales out in the real world and in fact, in other places on the internet. Gamers already know that they can both game and compete in a physical activity or have a hobby that involves physical activity.

Besides, I find that the most powerful form of inspiration comes from inside yourself (cheesy I know, but hear me out). If you cannot find the inspiration to improve yourself physically on your own, then you definitely won't find it on the internet.

....You think you're inspiring people? Suure, doing a good job of THAT. Boasting about achievements, claiming to be a 'powerful warrior' that could take us all down, trying to idolise yourself, truly I am inspired beyond comprehension. Truly.
