You don't have to wait until the 5th anymore. I just edited my shipping options from 1-day to release. Can't give you a price because I used the AmazonPrime option.  I know multiple people were waiting to see if this would happen, so here ya go! :D

*Update: Only 360 & PC standard editions atm. Stay tuned if you ordered CE.
*Update #2: Release day shipping for non Prime members is only $6. Thanks cback!
*update #3: You save at least $7 by switching reg edition pre-order from EB to Amazon. WK DLC is $7.00.
*Update #4: Latest response about CE shipping. Thanks to Phoenixblight.

"Thank you for writing about the Release-Date Delivery option for "Dragon Age; Standard edition". We only offer the Release-Date Delivery option after we've confirmed available inventory with our suppliers and are certain we can meet our delivery promise to you.

Unfortunately, it appears that you placed your order before the Release-Date Delivery option was available. In order to get that delivery option now that it is available, you will need to cancel your existing pre-order and place a new order for this item. If you enter an eligible shipping address during checkout when placing your new order, the Release-Date Delivery shipping option will appear among your shipping choices."

Thanks so much! I updated my order to reflect the change!

My Amazon prime runs out in a few days so I would not have been able to change it and get free shipping if I had waited much longer!

Has anyone seen a "release day shipping option" who is not an Amazon Prime member?

If you live in the UK GAME usually ship two days before release date and often it arrives next day meaning you get the game a day before the release date.

Yes, im not a amazon prime member and the regular copy with release day shipping for me will cost $52.97 total. Which is a pretty good deal.

Also in the UK, Gamestation run the same service. Ended up getting a game two days early from them once, it was a nice suprise.

Amazon seems to have ran out of Dragon Age CE... all I see is $125.00 from Market Place. WOW!

I just placed my order with Newegg. No special boots. Oh well.

Some further info:-

  • Release Day shipping is only available on the regular game, not the Collector's Edition
  • If you're prepared to wait a bit longer and pay more for shipping, or wait a lot longer, there is one (1) Collector's Edition available at amazon.com Posted Image
So much for the cloth map, you bar stewards

Now if only they sitll had the CE... Too bad the EA store isn't offering release date delivery. Although if they did, I doubt it would only be six bucks. Thinking of sacrificing the CE to get release date delivery....

Those that reserved the CE will not be able to change their order to Release date shipping. So the people that were smart enough to reserve the game prior to this option get the shaft. Posted Image

:(

Although I had to choose the money-saving option anyway.  I really shouldn't have bought the CE at all, as it's not realy in my budget, so I had to balance it out by not getting uber-quick shipping.

I just realised that by switching from CE to regular box, I also forfeited my Lion's Paw Boots.

Moral of this tale: it's amazing how much you can ****** people off by giving them free stuff.

It's still a pre-order and both versions get it. It's missing the image that the CE shows, but it's still in the item description. :)

www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-Xbox-360/dp/B001IK1BJ0/ref=sr_1_3

Pre-order Dragon Age: Origins and get The Lion's Paw boots which adds to armor, dodge, and evading missiles, and $10 off a future video game purchase. Offer good while supplies last. Must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com to be eligible. Lion's Paw access codes will be sent within 10 days after the game releases. $10 promotional code will be placed directly into your Amazon.com account within 2 business days after the product ships. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Limit 1 per household. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. $10 promotional code offer does not apply to the Collector's Edition.

Yeah, if I was sold on getting the CE I wouldn't care since they are hard to come by. It makes up for the wait. For the regular edition, not so much.

I guess I sit here hoping the CE *is* worth it.  I am getting it "mostly" for the additional game content.  Never purchased a CE before for *any* game, but Amazon says that the CE Game Guide will be here on the 4th, and CE on the 5th (hopefully before I need to leave for the weekend to attend a conference).
