Did you not read my email from amazon on the first page. THose that preordered the CE before this option was announced will not get the option.

I guess I sit here hoping the CE *is* worth it.  I am getting it "mostly" for the additional game content.  Never purchased a CE before for *any* game, but Amazon says that the CE Game Guide will be here on the 4th, and CE on the 5th (hopefully before I need to leave for the weekend to attend a conference).

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the only extra in game content included with the CE that's not included with the regular version is three unique items correct?  From the DA main website it appears everything else in game comes with any new game.

do believe your understanding is correct.

Furthermore, I suspect that most of the "extra" content will be available to everyone as DLC.

Check out this comparison, you save at least $7 by switching your pre-order from EBgames to Amazon. Warden's Keep DLC just happens to be $7. If you buy from Amazon, you basically get day 1 DLC for free, lol. That's not even including the tax difference. In CA, I pay $5 for tax at EB, but $0 at Amazon. I save a total of $12.

EBgames/Amazon

Dragon Age Origins - (360) $59.99/$56.99 (PC) $49/$46 = $3.00

Release Day Shipping - $10/$6 = $4.00

Tax to CA - $5/$0 = $5.00

Don't forget you also get a $10 credit with Amazon. The only way you'll get a better deal is if Target has Dragon Age as one of their pre-order cards.

Yeah, I didn't realize that until recently. That's going towards ME2 unless it expires quickly.

That may be what they say, but its not my experience with amazon. I've preordered a number of items before they got release-date shipping and was able to switch. I think, due to the limited supplies of the CE, that they haven't been able to assure that they'll be able to do release-date shipping.

"Thank you for writing about the Release-Date Delivery option for "Dragon Age; Standard edition". We only offer the Release-Date Delivery option after we've confirmed available inventory with our suppliers and are certain we can meet our delivery promise to you.

Unfortunately, it appears that you placed your order before the Release-Date Delivery option was available. In order to get that delivery option now that it is available, you will need to cancel your existing pre-order and place a new order for this item. If you enter an eligible shipping address during checkout when placing your new order, the Release-Date Delivery shipping option will appear among your shipping choices."

Those that reserved the CE will not be able to change their order to Release date shipping. So the people that were smart enough to reserve the game prior to this option get the shaft. Posted Image

File me under slow, but I don't understand why it matters when you pre-ordered the CE as long as it's been successfully ordered. You can edit shipping options on pre-orders without canceling them, so the first part of that email seems to mean they still aren't certain and you should continue waiting and checking back.

It sounds like they're telling you that you'd have to cancel your CE order and switch to the RE to get the current release date shipping option. Especially since you can't even order the CE anymore. I don't see that as confirming that you will never get that option for the CE. I think it was just a last ditch effort to get you a version of the game at release.

All this is very strange. Seems more complicated than it needs be.

Ordered CE a while ago, and have decided to keep that order. It is *still* scheduled to arrive on 5th, even with "overnight" shipping.

CE Game Guide is still scheduled to arrive on 4th.

After reading here, I decided to get regular addition shipped/received day of release. That way I have a lot of bases covered, and will give regular edition to my brother for his birthday on the 10th.

Whew!! Three deliveries on three days in a row ...

Why not order the digital download? I have the digital deluxe on pre-order from steam and all of the day 1 DLC is included in the package.

To make things even more fun, I pre-ordered Persona 4 from Amazon last year. I did free shipping since I was expecting to be gone for a week starting the day after release. Amazon was giving me the standard "For you who choose the free Shipping we won't even look at your order for the next week!" right up until the order closed for shipping. Received Persona 4 on release day.

Ah that sucks about the CE not getting release day, since that's the one I ordered <.<

Eh my gut says that the reason they are not giving PC CE the release day option is because they are unsure about some aspect of the shipping process and don't want to promise release date delivery. I am not going to get my heart set on receiving it on release day but I wouldn't exclude the possibility of at least receiving it on the 4th with overnight shipping

Oh well, I'll just not login the forums for two days as my CE takes it's time to arrive. I don't need the anguish of other gamers rubbing in all the fun. Then again...the gamers playing likely won't be wasting time posting about it on the forums.

Amazon.com finally added the "Memory Band" to their pre-order bonuses description. That's confirmation for those who were wondering if it was included or not since it wasn't listed before.

Amazon.ca's PC CE pre-order shows it shipping on the 6th and delivered on the 9th, even with priority shipping. Bummer, I might try to get a CE elsewhere so I can play it on the weekend, but that seems doubtful at this point.

... and it's $79.99. With tax and shipping, that comes to $104.49. But I guess it's hard to get a mailman to the igloo.

Well alas Amazon is a little late on the draw here. I was going to buy from them but when I saw I had to wait several days to get the game I decided to go with a downloaded version instead. They should post these things more then two weeks in advance.

Well there is always a chance that the CE could still show up eariler. I mean i have had many things appear earriler sooner then they say they should come.
