Commander Shepard vs. Sgt. "Psycho" Sykes (Nomad or Prophet are also viable alternatives)

You know you want it to happen.

Alternatively, fighting against hordes of Xenomorphs/Predators would be cool too.

The MC is physically a much better specimen [in Mass Effect terms the MC is a human Krogan with much better reactions & agility] but he's at his best when doing just one thing .... blowin stuff up / killin' dudes. Shep has the advantage of just laying a Paragon speech on the MC and getting him to join up with him to kill some Collectors :)

Actually.  It is entirely possible that Saren grabbed the one you didn't save before retreating...

Dear god BioWare might resort to the oldest plot device in the book...

IDK, both are cybernetically enhanced. Both (assuming AR for Shep) are exceptionally fast, and much stronger and tougher than your average human. Plus MC haz energy sword and dual wield.

I just wanna point out a few things that the chief has that shep dose not have:
Biological night vision
Skelatel graphts for indestructable bones
Neural inplants giving 300% human reflexes
Muscleular implants giving super human strength (remember the chief can throw tanks)
The Mjolinr Mk6 Powered Assault Armor

As far as I've seen, just from the scale each competes on the chief would obliterate shepard, no contest.  The chief is a machine, dose not feel pain, dose not have emotions, in their place he has 12 years of dehumanizeing combat training, as well as over 2 decades of combat expirince against hordes of invincable alien monsters, who punish the slightest error with instant death.

Shepard has a weapon with mass drivers. It would rip through Master Chiefs armour. Plus, this is just soldier Shep. I play as a sentinel. The chief would be screwed against biotics or tech powers.

That'd be too easy.  I left Ash behind because I didn't care about her.  I think there were too many people who felt antipathy if not downright dislike for the one they nuked on Virmire for that old wheeze to work and I suspect that Bioware has read enough pissy threads in this forum to know that.

Shep has the CAIN...

...and Tali to overload all MC's tech...

...and Liara to turn the rest into grape jelly with biotics.

It will be a 1vs 1 duel, if you want to play like that Chief can call his team. The Cain needs to charge up and it charges up longer then Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle aka Spartan Laser and I'm 100% sure that Shephard can't survive a direct hit fom the Splazer and even without the Splazer Chief can just run to Shephard and punch his fist trough Shep's face....
Shephard can't win from a Supersoldier that was trained since his childhood to become a perfect killing machine.

I would like to see how MC would react to Humanity's place in the galaxy. We know that almost everybody in the UNSC hates aliens and with a good reason too. He will propably shoot the Turian Councilor on sight after the 'Ah Yes, Reapers'.

Everyone forgets in these things that Shepard has much better technology that the chief. MC has a basic assault rifle. Shepard has a weapon WITH MASS DRIVERS. T'would chew the chief up. Shepard has adrenaline rush (since this appears to be the soldier) and can punch a geth prime to death. MC's biggest kill would have to be a hunter. A hunter isn't a Human Reaper. And with Shepard's new upgrades, he/she may very well be as poweful strength wise as MC.

the chief is not a robot, he is just as organic as shep and does feel pain. but i'm on the side of the chief kicking shep's ass;)

the chief also has cortana at his back, analyzing the combat situation for him. the chief doesn't need a squad to blow up an alien space station (the halo rings)

Just to defend my point, the chief never takes off the power armor, never expresses emotions and never shows the weakness of pain, he is the perfect human juggernaut which gives the distinct psychological impact that he is not human, and instead some kind of unstoppable machine, something that dose not feel pain or have weakness and therefor cannot be killed.  Furthermore, according to the books of the series, the chief had extreme syrgical augmentation as a teenager, as well as a chemical treatment during his 'childhood' as a military expirament, I would argue that he is very much not organic anymore seeing as his reletave mass would be overwhelmingly synthetic.

pay closer attention to halo 3, master cheif does express emotions with cortana... their friendship turns into a romance when the cheif saves her. then there are also things where if the chief had no emotions he wouldn't have done, like trusting that the message cortana sent through the flood infested cov cruiser wasn't a trap. promising her that he'd come back for her. back in the fall of reach when the ODSTs attacked him in the gym and he whooped their asses and killed one of them. he felt remorse and gilt about doing so

in the traffic school class i took two or so weeks ago we learned that there are 3 states of mind a person can be in. child, adult, parent. the adult is the logical thinking while the other two act upon emotions. the chief is trained to be in the adult state when he needs to. most soldiers today are

the surgical treatments were more along the sides of making his bones nearly indestructable and possibly some augmentations to his muscles. though my memory could be fuzzy since it's been about 5 years since i read fall of reach. and logically speaking why would they put them through as extensive training as they did if they were going to replace their muscles with robotics. if its on the endurance perspective they can just beat the trainings and tazer them over and over. or just scrap the project all together and make robotic soldiers with an AI in them.

Read the books, the spartans just as human as anyone else and feel happy/sad/****tty just like the rest of us. They just happen to have one of the toughest jobs in the universe.

Master Chief is the
exception to the the rule really. And yes I know there's a new Halo game
coming up. Too bad all the Spartans are going to die. [but who buys
Halo for SP campaigns anymore?]

I digress.

Me. I actually like the storyline more, the multi-player... egh. It's overloaded with idiotic frat boys and screaming 9 year olds. I ended up giving up on the multi-player.

Not the last spartan. Sorry, games =/= are not canon in that fact. Laughably so. There is almost 1000 spartans that existed, sure like 800 are dead, but there is still plenty alive and kicking. Of course, they very well may fix that with the new game and kill off everyone, but I doubt that.

Either way, depending upon which class shep is, it would be an pretty even fight.

Chief's biggest kill is a Covenant Super Carrier (5km long Covenant capital ship). Master Chief can also punch a Geth Prime to death, with one hit.

Sheph doesn't have much better tech then the Chief, ME weapons are better then UNSC weapons (except the Splazer, Allaince still doesn't have directed energy weapons), but the Splazer and the rocket launcher will still one hit kill Shep. The BR isn't a weak weapon, it can take out an Elite with four bursts, so I guess Sheps shields will go down with 4-6 bursts. Master Chief has superior reflexes, so Adrenaline Rush won't be very effective.

But I don't think they would ever want to fight each other, they both have the same goals (save The Galaxy, kill alien SoB's), there's no good reason for them to be enemies, except if Shephard tries to harm Cortana, then he will be screwed (Shephard, not Chief)

Have you ever read Fall of Reach, or do you just get all your knowledge from the games btw?
