Anyone know how big these things actually are? I'm a big guy, but we're talking US sizing here, and i'm in Australia, so i dunno. I've bought Penny Arcade hoodies (the Dark Mantle if anyone knows it) and i went for the biggest they had, the 3XL, its a LITTLE on the big side, but i think the 2XL would have been a little on the small side, and bigger is better with the hoodies They are also about 20 bucks cheaper, go figure. So can anyone tell me what the actual sizes are?
The store has a 'sizing chart' but its the worst thing i've ever seen. It give length, and 'width'.. Width for what? I would assume chest, but it says 27.5". Is that the chest width at the largest point, but only one side? Is the total circumference twice this?
27.5" isn't small, but it doesnt even come CLOSE to going all the way around my chest - about a little over half to 3/4). Is the total size of the 2XL 55", because that would be getting better, but its still sort of on the 'too close for comfort' (in more ways than one) side.
I'm really surprised there is no 3XL sizes here, it seems pretty common and as much as i would like it, $70 (or more after shipping and everything) only to find out it just doesn't fit? I can't bring myself to do that.

Because you have the same avatar as me I'll try to help you.

That is the sizing chart I referred to when I was shopping around for hoodies/clothes in general. Scroll down to the "how to measure" section. Maybe you want to wait for Jedi's confirmation that this is how they measure, but it seems to be pretty standard.
Short answer: Yes, I believe the circumference is twice the number listed.

Thanks, it would make sense if the circumference is twice listed on the chart. But it always pays to be absolutely sure.

That's how it always worked for things I order. A jacket from japan was much the same, but measured in cm, so convert to inches and *2. Chest tends to be armpit level, with length being from shoulder to hem.
Huhh...I've ordered from Japan, Britain, and USA in this fashion, so it seems standard. Measure one side, multiply by 2 and you have circumference of the item.
