 Just curious. I named mine Phallanx which seemed appropriate for a war dog, but then I realized that I spelled it with two L's instead of one Doh.

BARKSPAWN! lol, after seeing it written somewhere 1st  playthru called it Fluffy after the 3-headed dog from the 1st Harry Potter Book

I named my first one 'Precious' (was playing a girly girl HNF), mostly because having a war-dog with a silly girly name seemed funny to me at the time.



On my non-human playthroughs I usually just name it 'Dog'. Especially for my elves.

Mine is named Laoch in my current playthrough. Laoch is Irish for 'Hero' and since a lot of the human society in Ferelden is based on Gaelic lore, then I think it's fitting.



Another one I use is "Cú" or "Cu" - Cú meaning ' Hound' in Irish, in honour of the mythical hero Cú Chulain, the Hound of Culan.



Barkspawn rocks as a name though!

I named my dog Dogmeat. That's what my dog is named in Fallout 3 and I don't want to have to memorize the names of too many video game dogs.

I've been keeping to a theme of naming him after weapons:

-Maul

-Cutlass

I do that also, have diffrent names for diffrent origins I mean.
Human Noble. Craiggers.
Dalish Elf. Fen'Harel.

I didn't get the option to name it playing as a human noble, so for my first playthrough, he was known as "Dog".

On my second playthrough as an evil mage, I called him "Meatshield", as that was his primary function.

On my third as a city elf, I called him "Bandit".

On my current playthrough as a dwarf commoner, I called him "Ferdie"

My first dog was named Don, after someone I knew, then Who (allude to Dr. Who), after that, Megatron.. because I could not think of a name XD
